Exactly. There has to be a reason why such a presumably nice person was so popular with the in crowd for so many years. She never had kids, she looked and acted decades younger than her years. It is a heartbreaking thought but so are a lot of things these days.

Historically a small minority is targeted for extermination. I doubt that targeting 60%+ white plus 22% Asian will give them the end result they intend. Not to mention who will fix their shit when it breaks?

He is the worst kind of politician. Wilhelm was stupid and kept afloat by the developer lobby. This guy hates whites, white collar, success and most importantly independent thinkers. He is wily enough to say the right thing while climbing over corpses to get his next job. He is very dangerous.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss. The quiet part is that everyone who isn't jabbed won't be getting jabbed so the only thing that will save "his" businesses is scuttling the mandate. He should leave his fly tie and cuffs home.

He walks a metaphoric tightrope with every word out of his mouth. Half the country is covid crazy. He has to draw them in somehow. He is validating them while not throwing the rest of us under the bus. Give him a break.

Only a crazy person would move from a low tax, low crime, faith positive environment to a commie, drag queen, violent shit hole like NYC. I wouldn't want my worst enemy to come here.
The red states have our example of what not to do. The citizens of the red states have to engage in local politics immediately and with enthusiasm. NY used to be the best state in the country but we stopped engaging and they took over.

I'm in the center of a blue hellhole, NYC. I don't mask or show papers or otherwise bother with Wilhelm's nonsense. I am one person and retired so I don't have to deal with it. In its entirety, there is no fighting it. Tens of thousands of civil servants walked off the job, the Assembly and City Council have pp camped outside their offices and the newspapers are flooded with anti vacc letters. None of them care. They hold the megaphone and the purse strings. The elections are rigged. What would you have us do?

They are so deeply entrenched that we can't get rid of them. Ten thousand pp protest and there is no change primarily because the media and judiciary are captured. They took over the older states first but they are coming for you too. TX isn't TX anymore either. I lived there in the 70s, that wasn't this so don't be on your high horse, be on your guard. If you aren't participating in local politics you are doomed.

My kid is FDNYEMS, her RE was turned down today with no review, as required by law. She will appeal but she'd need a straight up miracle. She is devastated. The ability to have kids is more important to her though so she'll be ok.

He is my guy so I just emailed him which I've been doing for 20 years. He never replies and never takes my suggestions but I live in hope.

That is ok, as long as he goes downward not upward to federal. All politics are local, get busy. Yes he is a rino and has to be held in check daily.

Decent article but the idea that men have no business protecting their neighbors, property or themselves is in itself a snow job. We are told by politicians that the police will protect us, our property and our neighbors. We are taxed in perpetuity for this service. Those same politicians then tell the police to stand down and we pay, through taxation, billions of dollars to fix what the miscreants outside of society destroy. No, this is wrong thinking. We must take our responsibility for the well being of ourselves and our communities seriously.

Maybe not. FDNY refused to waive the propane heater ban as they did last winter. The old buildings can't use electric heat and gas heat is too expensive. Honk

Pepitone would be an infinitely better mayor than Sliwa and Mateo is still on the ticket. Sliwa has the media oomph but he is the worst of the three. If we had a republican party structure they could have mediated some kind of bullshit backroom deal to keep from having a split vote. Since the republican party in NYC works for the democratic interests, they are probably cracking the champagne for our next racist, communist mayor. I'll vote for Sliwa while holding my nose.
