Secession is complicated, even with Texas being the only state with it in their state constitution. States and the Fed are intertwined in ways the men who wrote that into their constitution could even dream of. Feds have a significant stake in Texas - ports, air bases, navy bases, army bases, highways, Federal land, airports, Federal buildings and employees, etc. They're not going to just throw their hands up in the air and go "Whelp, I guess you got us there - you're free to go."
Not saying it's impossible, but it's a way longer, harder road than a lot of you Pedes expect. And the fed will fight it tooth and nail, every step of the way.
The companies that own the refineries will never go with this idea. It would bankrupt them, especially when the Fed pulls their export tickets. You have to understand local sales is a tiny, tiny, tiny fraction of a refinery's output. You're expecting Wonder Bread to only sell bread to the local community where their bakeries are. That's economic death, and putting a lot of people out of work - many of whom almost certainly disagree with you.
There's only around 120 refineries in the country. They service the entire country, these plants can chug out 30, 40, 50k barrels a day. Local markets would only take up a percent of a percent of their output. You'd be killing jobs for the entire infrastructure, you'd literally kill big chunks of states.
Judges can't just decide to block an EO. Someone has to sue, Trumps EOs were blocked in the courts because Dems sued.

You get out of college what you put into it. I wanted to be there, so I got a lot, but at least half the kids on campus where there because their parents expected it, or it was continuing high school for 4 more years.

Student loan funding was just fine before Obama backed them Federally. Those who qualified, could get them - or had parents who would co-sign.
The whole thing has many heads, as always - banks wanted more loans on the books, colleges wanted more money so the administration heads could go to elite parties and make as much as people in industry, socialists wanted more students on campus to be indoctrinated, and after 2008 we had a significant number of people laid off/fired, so colleges got really fat and happy over "retraining" degrees.
It's all been one big money trough, and everything was fighting for a spot. And now, there will be no end in sight. Trying to remove Fed backing of student loans will cause a massive chimp out, because predatory loans that anyone can get, and be a slave to for the rest of their adult life, somehow fights racism. And college administrators and professors might have to drive last year's Mercedes. And we can't have that.

You're close to understanding how it all works. Obama and Hillary sold us out, and they had debts to pay, getting into power. Those debts have been sitting for 4 years. That's why Syria is popping off immediately, they have a pipeline to get through that country, that the Sauds and other OPEC members paid good money for our troops to clear the way for.
