I mean speak for yourself. I'm the oldest of 8 siblings (we're all middle aged now). There's a surgeon, and engineer and a general contractor, I'm the computer guy. We all have skillsets that would let is vanish into the hills and feed our families in an emergency.

We all collect different obscure bits of science. I can build a scoop generator from scratch. I know everything about electronics, batteries and enough chemistry to make basic versions. I know about fluid dynamics and pump systems. I can build a manual crank water pump out of a garden hose, a 5 gallon bucket and any sort of wood. I can build an Archimedes screw. I can make roman concrete. I'm a passable carpenter, I know how to build all sorts wood working tools up to a trundle driven saw... starting with a knife or an axe.

The engineer is also a potter. He knows how to preserve all types of foods. He makes pickles, smokes meat, etc.

The surgeon is also smith and a brewer. He can build a distillery from scratch provided we can get him a furnace/water/ore.

We all know how to farm, ride horses, care for animals and how to hit what we shoot at.. We all hike, hunt, camp, fish and we all have 3 or more children who learned these things from us.

If there's a societal collapse, we aren't starving... and anyplace we happen to end up is going to thrive based off our skill sets.

I imagine a lot of people are like us.

You can't stop bitcoin, the miners determine when and how a block is made. You literally can't block the traffic. Someone could try and it would take a few hours for the network to enforce encrypted connections and it would continue on.

They also can't stop bit torrents. They're alive and well and over 80% of the total network traffic last time I checked. Everyone runs protocol encryption to avoid the ISP meddling with the traffic.
