This sucks. And I am NOT certain about compromise. But given the warnings that were issued, the fact on the ground and the plausible but utterly unsupportable excuses presented, I'm out.

I love the people here, and the people who put in all the money and effort, and personal risk, to make it go -- but I no longer trust the site.

That would detect a particular type of compromise, yes.

BULLSHIT. This is EXACTLY what a hostile takeover would look like, and is EXACTLY what the mods warned us about in NUMEROUS posts.

This (floridatreeman) is a backup account for just such a contingency.

Going forward, there is NO WAY to determine whether the site is now just another data-sucking tool of the big government and big tech. THAT'S WHY THEY WARNED US EARLIER. Everything you see from "mods" here is excuses and camouflage after-the-fact.

I could be wrong -- there's no way to know. And THAT WAS THE POINT OF THE EARLIER MODS WARNINGS.
