I have a friend who is a nurse, single, no kids, and just crested forty. She' on anti-depressants, loaded with student debt, and a really nice person.
I don't pretend to know the motivations of young women, but as far as young men goes, I'm guessing it's pretty demoralizing watching society become increasingly hostile to the idea your success as being anything other than a broken system that needs correcting.
Nobody is suggesting they shouldn't, but I think they underestimate the value of what women do for society when left to their own devices. It just seems a waste to try and force them to be engineers if all they want to do is be appreciated for enriching the lives of those around them and be free to pursue other interest.
At the very least, they should be cognizant that they have a choice, but it requires making some important decisions early. Nobody is doing that though. They're all "going to college" in expectation that they'll be conquering the world, and then half of them end up homemakers anyhow... But they haven't really prepared for it. It's crazy.
It certainly does seem that way. When I visit friends and see their kids, I try and drop hints that maybe their daughter doesn't need to be so intense with her education. She clearly doesn't enjoy much of her chosen career path, but mom and dad want her to be "normal".
I'm not sure that holds true today. I suspect our self-centered generation of malformed adults may not make good life partners.
There is no downside for them. If the SHTF on this shot, they'll all point the finger at each other and leave you holding the short straw. It's insane.
Alternatively, the rewards for them are huge. They now have a new market for "booster" shots that people will inevitably take every year especially if they can prove (or suggest) you are at a higher risk if you have taken the initial shot. They're training human cattle to walk down the chute towards their doom.

The shot doesn't have to do anything other than what they advertised it does to be a bad idea. The shift towards this type of dependence is enough that they can control the population.
Depopulating any country in one generation would be catastrophic for that country's demographics and lead to societal collapse. They would be much better off to curtail birth rates in poor countries and taper it down slowly (which they are already doing if I'm not mistaken).
