I've only ever grabbed my pistol with intent to use once... Parked bobtail to get a cold drink and while distracted a crack dealer jumped in trying to make a deal. Although I immediately had my pistol in arm, I never pulled it out and was able to deescalate by making clear he wasn't welcomed... Be aware and think rationally; for sure.

I'm just surprised the officers in this case watched these public disturbances for over three hours without intervening!
