This evening, my daughter called me a racist, transphobic, and homophobic due to my support of Trump. Now, personally, I feel being called those names I felt attacked. I asked how I was these things, and since Trump is obviously the most racist, transphobic, etc. since I supported him that made me the same.

I asked my daughter, a mid teens high-schooler, why Trump was racist, and she went to some google doc that listed a bunch of items that, if you perform a bit of research, can see was taken out of context, or was someone else's actions attributed to him. However, when I attempted to explain that she was only listing items without doing the research I was accused of gaslighting and attacking her.

My wife is anti-Trump, mainly due to her pro-choice but most likely will not be voting for Biden due to his selection of the his running mate. I am listening to them talking about the evils of the patriarchy, how men destroy everything, while I am in the office wondering about how I handle the absolute insane levels of TDS that my family has. I even pointed them to the full speech (both youtube and transcript) that blows up the "very fine people" lie to which they all subscribe to.

I know that I will continue to push forward, since I do believe that we are nearing a tipping point for our country, one side being prosperity and growth, the other side being economic contraction and limitation and removal of our creator given liberties. I reckon I just needed to vent, and say that it is hard to maintain your principles when those principles are alienating your own blood.
