If the counties run the elections and Rs run the county they should be able to force fair elections in these counties. If you do your redistricting right, you make solid D state rep and state senate districts in those corrupt counties so they don't impact other, competive elections. Now you can get and keep R control of the state legislature and pass the election reform laws. Your challenge is the state wide races that the corrupt counties can swing, like Gov and Secretary of State. The legislatures have to fight and sue to get their laws enforced.

Scary how much control they have if they can freeze individuals out of the banking system. I mean Trump can throw cash in a brokerage account somewhere, he doesn't need an FDIC insured account. But what happens to the rest of us when we are all labeled domestic terrorists?

If it is publicly traded and you had 51% of the voting stock would that be enough? Even if you were just the largest shareholder and could get your people on the board of directors that might be work.

The R Senators up for election in 2022 would not risk it. But some might decide to retire and not care (or figure they can get a payoff after they leave) Senators four years out have less risk and might hope people forget by then. Now McConnell might be playing a game...he delayed the vote so now it might be unconstitutional. He could have done it in the last congress with an emergency session. He might might, come out for impeachment so the Dems can't hold the Capitol protests over him as an issue while knowing there aren't the votes for impeachment. This is his last term so he doesn't worry about reelection. Or he wants Trump banned from running so another R can get the nomination next time (Romney, Jeb, etc).

What the left doesn't understand is just because your candidate is in power doesn't mean your opponents were wrong. Reality hasn't changed, the bad things we warned about will still happen.

Time we all move to different platforms and take our friends. FB and Google own advertising these days. They are gatekeepers to other media. I know from experience in power generation that a few years ago when we had some cold winters and the NG supply was constrained in the Midwest and we were close to rolling blackouts. If Biden shuts down more coal while shutting down fracking I don't know what we will do. CA is already on the edge for supply.

How much of the natural gas goes to CA? Or to electrical power plants supplying CA? Importing natural gas is a whole lot different than importing oil.
