Amazing how fast things change. In 2020, we learned that Hydroxychloroquine, a drug in use for over 50 years and safe for pregnant women, was a dangerous drug that must be banned by governors and should never be used for coronavirus (please ignore that study from 10 years ago). Now in 2021 we learn that a new vaccine should be given to everyone, including children and pregnant women, and if you question it or decline, you want grandma to die.
It's kind of win either way for them. If someone shows up, they paint them as a racist, beat them up and blame them for the violence, and media goes along with it. If no one shows up, because it's a trap, the media still blame white supremacists, and they've successfully created an atmosphere where conservatives cannot legitimately gather for political purposes. Still being demonized, but also not allowed to organize or speak without endangering their lives (and livelihoods, and families).
It's true that sleeping around is the woman's choice too, but there is some pressure from the men. Another comment on this page requires a "test drive" before commitment. Young women who want the best chance at a lasting marriage need to commit to saving themselves for marriage, realizing that if a certain man requires a sample, he isn't the man for them no matter how good he looks. Of course, after marriage, she also needs to keep her head on straight, and not go into some crazy "I haven't had enough fun I need to find myself" nonsense and blow up her marriage and family.
Oh, it's so good for family to look out for their kids like that! (Assuming one's family is stable, obviously.) I know a couple men that got trapped by horrible women, and even though friends and relatives admitted later that they were concerned, they didn't say anything. In one case, it caused decades of misery, and affected the children and the relationship with the whole family.
Be careful who you date, and keep your pants on until you're sure they're a nice, stable person! Well, preferably until marriage but I know most non-Christians won't go for that.
I agree, I've noticed more and more that movies, TV shows, and even books keep pushing a degenerate culture as if it's normal and glossing over the damage.
You can see it a lot even in period dramas, which you'd think would be pretty clean, based on Regency or Victorian or 50s stories. Nope. They shoehorn in gay characters somewhere, add in a minority whether they fit in the story or not. Be sure you show anything related to a church as being backwards, hypocritical, and evil. Don't forget the wife beater. I watched some Miss Marple mysteries and they turned just about every bachelor/spinster into a gay/lesbian, they added graphic sex scenes, and they even gave Miss Marple a backstory as an adulteress! Agatha Christie must be turning in her grave. It's just deliberately adding dirt and filth to push the idea that it's totally normal and everyone does it.
Even squeaky clean Hallmark movies are guilty of it - they all feature the woman "finding herself," she has some kind of nice job, or a failed marriage, hits 30-something, and then meets Mr. Perfect in a sweet small town. If women think they can play around for a decade, have their important fulfilling job in the city and still find a nice (tall, handsome, rich) man in their 30s, they're in for a surprise. They don't dare show a movie where a girl is nice and finds a good man in college and marries him happily ever after, there always has to be something to break them up until she's in her 30s. And this is Hallmark, pushing the idea that a decade of failed relationships (sleeping around) is better than marrying early.
Every time. Democrat politicians and their families make out like bandits, swimming in taxpayer money and nothing gets done properly. Meanwhile, Democrats and the idiots that vote for them want government-run healthcare for all. Who trusts actual thieves and liars with the health of their entire family?
In some cases the parents pay what they can and "owe" the rest, which means once they (or their child) is here in the States, they're in serious debt to traffickers/cartels. That means they have to work for them, either giving them money, or forced to work off debt with slavery, prostitution, drug smuggling, or whatever else these disgusting people are involved with.
This whole thing is wicked from top to bottom, and these wicked people trying to frame it as "refugees looking for a better life" are supporting all of it. They are complicit in debt slavery, drug smuggling, sexual slavery, and child trafficking.
Exactly. These "parents" know what kind of people human traffickers and cartels are. They know what kind of people they're entrusting their child to, and they know this is a dangerous journey - both the environment and the people with their child. But they send them anyway, thinking it will be easier to join them later with family reunification. These scum are not the kind of people we want in this country. I'm very sorry for the child, but keeping him here will only encourage more child trafficking. He has to go back to his own country.
I keep thinking about this magazine, and now I really want it. Something like the old-school kind of homemaking magazines, they even had serial novels or short stories, plus recipes and menus, knitting/sewing, wardrobe advice (spring capsule wardrobe, anyone?). Practical home management tips instead of all the tiresome feminist stuff. You can actually read a few old ladies magazine on archive.org. A bunch from the Victorian era because they're out of copyright, but can be really hard to read. I've found a few from the 20s-50s too, still with lots of short stories (some by famous authors), Gladys Taber columns, all kinds of things. Plus those vintage illustrations I love so much!
"It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house."
Frankly, you sound incredibly aggressive. Your husband probably isn't interested in backing you up because after you get aggressive and start fights, he's the one who's going to get punched or arrested. Who was this "grizzly man" anyway? Was he just some random customer, and how did he get involved? Unless he was a manager who stopped the hostess, it would have been best to just ignore him and follow the hostess to your table.
You admit you're emasculating him, you want to "teach him with impact," in another comment you've thrown him out of his own bed (you're the one having a hissy fit, you sleep on the couch), and you're badmouthing him on the internet. No wonder he won't lead, you've taken all the pants.
But they don't need to use their food stamps all at once do they? Why would they need to stock up on two whole carts at a time? If they're buying frozen packaged foods, then they have a fridge, which means buying a week's worth of groceries is possible. Or instead of prepared foods, they can buy plain frozen veggies, they're very cheap, won't go bad, and you can vary the seasoning. Buying a few packages of discount meat is pretty affordable too (I supposed this depends on where you live). Our boneless skinless chicken is $2 a pound, and I always find pork and beef for less than $5 a pound, and all that can be put in the freezer too. Oh, and eggs are a cheap protein that lasts a long time. Potatoes are pretty cheap, as is oatmeal and rice. Dried beans are cheap but take forever to cook, but canned are not too bad as long as they're rinsed.
Two big issues are knowing how (and being willing to) cook that food, plus having a taste for real food. If someone has grown up eating fast food and processed prepared food, they're not accustomed to the flavor and texture of homemade food, whatever the seasoning. It takes time to change your taste for things like that, and if your kids are only accustomed to fast food, it's really hard to get them to eat something else.
I often see people saying that there needs to be more healthy food and fresh produce at food banks, which is true, but then when you hear from people that work at those food banks, they admit when they hand out produce they find it in the dumpster outside. People just throw away the fresh veggies before they leave the parking lot, and take home the packaged stuff.
Love these! It actually would be great to have a conservative Ladies MAGAzine. Somewhere we can get these kind of articles about homemaking, fashion, grooming, crafts, and all that but isn't laced with SJW leftist rot. Even my cooking magazine (I'm canceling my subscription) is seeding every article with climate change and social justice. Crafting sites for knitting and sewing are full of transgender propaganda.
Is it the dog they got from the shelter recently? The poor thing is probably really stressed, it tried to get used to new owners (one of whom is a senile creep who pulls his tail) in a new environment, then it's moved somewhere else, there's upheaval and dozens of strangers in both places as they're being moved and have aides popping in and out, different people all the time. This is just no situation for a shelter dog, and if they refuse to admit it and give the dog to a good home, he'll end up being put down. And it's the Biden's fault, because they won't admit they weren't in a place to care for such a dog, especially with Joe out of his mind and regressing to the point he's pulling their tails.
Yes, the black on Asian violence has been going on a long time, even in the 50s. My grandpa was harassed by black neighbors every day when he came home from work until they found out he always carried a gun with him in his truck. They became amazingly polite after that.
All this is true, and I think a lot of other things are contributing too. We do eat huge amounts, especially of carbs and sugar, which is not good as our lifestyle got more and more sedentary - jobs and housework generally require far less activity now.
We pay a lot less for food too. Historically, I've seen budget recommendations of 25-40% for food. I believe we average maybe 11% of our monthly budgets on food these days?
Then there's all our bad eating habits: continually snacking, enormous plates compared to vintage, children given favorites to stop them whining, gulping down food on the go or in front of the TV, no family meals. If we started eating three home-cooked meals a day, on vintage (smaller) plates, sitting at the table chatting with family, and no snacks to spoil supper, a lot of people would start losing weight.
Oh, I loved Redwall! I would read any anthropomorphic animal books I could find. Well, until about 4th grade when I got hold of Animal Farm thinking it was a child's book. Still upset they sent that poor horse to the glue farm, but at least it made me hate communism early!
Look for Richard Scarry too, we loved those growing up. They've made a number of changes over the years. I've managed to get two or three original ones, that show mom in the kitchen (had to be changed to show dad cooking) and construction crews are male (several had to be made female by adding bows, same with police).
It's also a boost to other state or county-level candidates. This is how they can gradually change a red state. One by one, get Party people into key positions until they control a district, then spread from there. That's why none of the main "fraud" states from the Nov election (GA, PA, MI, AZ) would audit properly - 6% fraud here, 10% fraud there, and they've got compromised election officials, compromised SoS, compromised Govs, compromised judges.
The release might actually be an accident, just because the Chinese hate to lose face. If it was purposeful, they would have snuck it into another country (probably ours) to release first. The reaction to it, however, was definitely meant to mess up Trump's economy and the election. Look what Fauci and the media did when there was a cure (not perfect, but pretty good) that could have squashed it last spring. They pretended HCQ was some kind of deadly poison, just to keep the pandemic going and kill more people.
It doesn't matter if they know it's crap, they'll still parrot the talking point. Look how many keep saying "Trump didn't take the pandemic seriously, it's completely his fault that people died!" He was addressing it while the Democrats were still playing impeachment, he and his team were on TV every day, getting supplies to states that needed them, working with companies, etc. etc. They saw all that, live, themselves, and a month later they were saying "he did nothing" without a blush. They're liars who will say anything the Party tells them.
Yes, these places will never improve if everyone who wants to live in peace and all the educated people leave for better countries. And that doesn't even address the culture issue. Some people don't seem to understand that Western values are not universal.
I read a fascinating article by a lady who spent some time in the Peace Corps in an African country (can't remember which). She learned that working hard at a job and honesty are not universal values, it just wasn't a thing there. In that country, their responsibility is only for their own family, to give them whatever you can. So if you get a job, working is not why you're there. You're expected to steal everything you can to give to your own family. You can't even own a store there, because your own family will come in and take whatever they want, and you have to let them, because you're supposed to give to family. People from other countries own all the shops, it's the only way to run a store without having your own family take everything. Then we import them here and pretend everything's going to be great. Later, this lady's family had an assisted living helper from that country. Of course, he stole everything he could from their father, she was the only one not shocked, because that's their culture.
