This is suchhhhhh a good post. You are exactly right. Gamergate was the first line of the culture war for me. When Bioware was taken over by blue haired check marks to make lgbtq romance simulators I decided enough was enough. Nothing wrong with those things, but this company made the best D&D PC game ever and followed that up with two of the best star wars games ever. Mass Effect 3 was the beginning of GG in my eyes. The hamburger Hepler controversy stoked by none other than Jim Sterling was an antecedent to the Quinn fiasco. People realized that victimhood had a pay out whether through cash or social praise. Nothing worse than a hypocrite.
