Since long before Trump even won the nomination in 2016, libralism has been little short of terrorism, openly insulting, harassing and attacking anybody who doesn't toe the ideological line. Millions of conservatives went into hiding; they didn't talk to friends or co-workers about politics, they damn sure didn't talk to poll-takers (that's why the polls in 2016 and 2020 were so wrong).
There are millions of us, all over America. We're just hiding. Waiting. Waiting for the right moment to strike.
My town (or county, or some crap) has a mask mandate. Nobody around here cares. Half the people I see in public every day are not wearing, they don't get stared at or rebuked by anybody else, even the POLICE don't care. Hell, on three occasions I've seen cops at the grocery store. Maskless, each time, and also walking past maskless civilians without so much as a second glance.
You and I are each seeing only a small slice of the world. Is your slice a better representation of reality? Is mine? Maybe neither? I don't know. I just know the big picture isn't what mass media are making it out to be. Masks don't work, and a lot of people out there are throwing them away and going back to normal.
