Oh yeah I understand I the case load is insane. I don’t think the justice/prison system is capable of handling the amount of prisoners there would be if people got the time they deserved. On the other hand when people addicted to drugs who have a hard time behaving anyway learn there isn’t any jail time heading their way, they don’t correct themselves until they do something horrible and tragic.

If you think normal people see jail time for stealing, drugs, assault LEO and dui (even all those at once), you don’t know how lenient the justice system is on offenses like that. I have had dozens of cases similar to that, and one with all of those (technically it was not stealing but possessing a stolen gun)
