I went to San Francisco in the late 80's and have great memories of a clean, sunny city. I returned in 2012 for a week long training class, and decided to stay an extra 5 days for a vacation. While I was there, this happened: "Escalators in San Francisco’s BART transit system shut down after being treated as toilets".
My strongest memories from the 2012 visit are that the whole city smelled like piss, you had to watch the ground constantly to avoid stepping in (human) shit, and you had to fend off the relentless pan-handlers every few minutes. I will never, never go back.
Adam Kinzinger's pinned tweet right now:
"It was a sobering moment to vote in support of impeachment today; to walk over to the U.S. Capitol, our symbol of democracy, and recall the violent insurrection we witnessed here just one week ago. This is not a vote I took lightly, but a vote I took confidently. I'm at peace."
TIME’S LATEST COVER SHOWS BIDEN IN AN OVAL OFFICE TRASHED BY HIS PREDECESSOR
"In the illustration by longtime Time contributor Tim O’Brien, piles of neglected files and paperwork are stacked everywhere, a discarded MAGA hat and a bullhorn rest on the floor, half-eaten French fries and ketchup spill over the edge of the Resolute desk, and a giant “T” is spray-painted on a curtain. President Biden is in the background, seemingly deep in thought as he stares out a window at the dawning day. The coverline reads “Day One.”"
I was lucky enough to catch Rush's "Where were you? We had a guy!" rant while driving this afternoon and had to pull over for a minute because I was shaking with anger. The Republicans will never get another dime from me.
The fact that there are people stupid enough, brainwashed enough, or dishonest enough to claim this was fair is pretty damn scary.
