You've never read an EULA. An End User LICENSE Agreement. The license typically is permanent, unless you break the EULA, then you lose your license to play it.

A) ethereum mining is still cryptocurrency mining, it just isn't bitcoin mining. That said, some systems like nicehash have you rent out your gpu power to mine ethereum or whatever altcoin and they pay you in bitcoin.

B) CPUs haven't seen the crunch because the specific cpu used is largely irrelevant for ethereum mining efficiency and a mining rig will have multiple (like 6 or 7) GPUs on it with a single CPU.

C) you will see that psu process have also gone way up. You used to be able to get a nice 750W+ for $50 or so a year ago, now good luck finding one under $100 and I haven't even looked lately.
