Our usual neighborhood was slammed with MAGA folks, over 1000 kids. One city councilman was giving out candy dressed as a bottle of lysol and had a cat dressed as Trump. No costumes included masks this year, kek. Traditional and home made costumes seemed very popular. I saw very few kids dressed as marvel/disney, 2 toddler spidermen and and zero disney princesses (a first for me!). Several kids dressed as astronauts, and lots of witches, mummies, and vampires. The coolest thing were the candy chutes! South central Mississippi.

I used to teach in an inner city school. The year I started, the librarian asked me to help her dispose of books in this way (she let me have a couple hundred dollars from her EF money for my trouble). Anything older than ten years had to go. Instead of tossing, I snuck them all out on a couple Saturday mornings. Over a thousand books. A lot really were garbage and outdated, but there were some real treasures, like Mississippi history textbooks from the 1930s. A few I donated to historical collections and others I sold. At least have a community book sale before you toss them in a dumpster.

GOOD. I've been inundated with crying teachers all over the radio today who are "scared." I never want to hear about teacher pay raises again for these lazy cowards. It's very telling that my 5 am gym classes were 99% teachers prior to covid, and are now 99% nurses. Where did all the teachers go? They are at home sleeping in.
