Even better: exchange skills and trade for some fungible tokens that can easily be divided and sent across distances, and exchanged those tokens with others for for their skills and trades!

Because Reagan ended the "cold war"? In the 1980s there was a real fear of nuclear war with the Soviet Union. People were genuinely scarred. Nightly news had stories about missile tests, Soviets shot down a passenger jet (spying for US?), neighbourhoods had siren tests to warn of missiles, TV shows and movies depicted nuclear weapons hitting our cities.

Reagan negotiated with the Soviet leader, while building up the military, and spending on new weapon systems that Soviets couldn't afford to match.

Fun fact: the brother of the guy who shot Reagan had dinner with George Bush's son

The family of the man charged with trying to assassinate President Reagan is acquainted with the family of Vice President George Bush and had made large contributions to his political campaign, the Houston Post reported today ... Scott Hinckley, brother of John W. Hinckley Jr., who allegedly shot Reagan, was to have dined tonight in Denver at the home of Neil Bush, one of the vice president's sons.

All it takes is desire and the personal drive to accomplish a task

… and the actual ability to complete the task. Nobody with a 68 IQ (the average in some countries) ever going to build a nuclear reactor, an airplane, a computer, a car, or even fertilizer.

I don't know how they managed to redefine the word

Leftists are doing it everywhere. If they control language, then they control thought. For example, in my printed 1990 dictionary “racism” is defined as “the practice of racial discrimination”. They’ve since changed it to:

a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race

(Ie: believing in biology and genetics is now called “racism”)

“Drag shows” originated to “drag women through the mud” to mock them for entertainment. The exaggerated hair + makeup + clothing is meant to mock women, not actually appear like women. They don’t want to be women, they hate women.
