I grew up so poor in the Bronx that I would have to sleep in full winter gear in the winter and did my homework by candlelight many times. There was nothing lucky about my childhood. Other than a love of books instilled by my family that allowed me to educate myself into college level reading and comprehension by 5th grade.

I never needed a teacher except for math. Just give me the book and then lets discuss the pros, cons, and how it affects society. Sesame Street taught me how to read and count before I even went to kindergarten.

Interesting how the fact that most of the world is paved and full of concrete is never brought up as a possible reason for the warming planet. Only carbon emissions.
