Occasionally in all the noise of social media, this lovely forum included, a voice will reach through the ether and touch my heart. You, debutante, have done this. We are united in our humanity no matter our other differences and you have reminded us of this. Thank you.
Your original point is well taken. I am very pro-gun and yet I too am aware that perception rules over reality. I love my brothers who stand up to illegal repression but I am not sure that the display of weaponry helps us win this debate.
Debutante, I wish you peace and a bright future with your loving family.
I came across this idea in a science fiction story back in the 70's. There was a "negative income tax" which was a sort of dole, but you could not vote if you took it. Makes perfect sense and eliminates the inherent weakness of democracies - that the mob, once it finds out it can simply vote itself benefits from society's producers, will bankrupt the system. If you don't contribute, you don't get to decide the rules.
The left introduced and popularized the term “people of color” to attempt to unify all non-Caucasian races against the caucasians. In reality, the racism of each of these groups against the others is widespread and obvious. Control language to control thought.
“ Documents reviewed by POLITICO ” - lets play journalist for a moment. What documents? Provided to Politico by who? What is the historical veracity of the organization publishing this story? What is their agenda?
Politico lies to further their leftist agenda, don’t listen to them, find an independent, truthful source.
A lot of meetings are now on Zoom conferences instead of in person (I’m in California). This helps a lot but the problem is with folks who are new and go to physical meeting locations and no-one is there. Signs have been posted with Zoom instructions but it’s so easy for someone new to be discouraged when the meeting hall is dark. This threat/scare is hurting our citizens.
There is no escape clause for the bill of rights. If an amendment to the constitution is ratified by the states to allow forced closures and public curfews, fine. But until then there is no legal authority for these government actions. They are all voluntary and should be treated as such.
thanks, I was also curious
