Cliche story in the US now. State/city is run by insane Democrat(s). Democrat voters are upset. They vote in another Democrat. Why does this keep happening to us?!?!?! It's like they have this idea in their head of what a Republican is (horrible kitten eating incest zombies) and just agree to continue to vote D. My mom's husband is like that. He's low taxes, pro gun, generally conservativeish on fiscal issues but hates the "idea" of a republican.
My approach is similar. I just walk up, pull down my pants, and throw my nuts on the table, and say "am I right?". When they also throw nuts on the table, I know. Works every time.

When words don't work to deter further hostility, the threat if force is morally justified, and if hostility continues, actual force is morally justified. As far as I'm concerned, an aggressor acted violently, someone feared for their life and their kids life, threatened force if the aggressors didn't fuck off. If they fucked off, then good. No one got hurt. Everyone goes on about their way. The gun served its purpose. No harm, no foul. Simple as that.
Am I protective of pregnant women? Damn right. You don't want someone to respond violently to you? Then don't be violent towards them in the first place.

Just do what I do... Act like you don't see them/hear them, like you would if you were on the phone and not paying attention. I've done this five times and home depot and no one said a word. Also, carry yourself confidently, as if you're doing nothing unusual.
Make them look like assholes. Just sit down and make them calling the police. and as soon as the police show up just leave of your own volition. If enough people did this they'd have to either shut down entirely, or stop being gay. Either way is a win for us. If you have an hour to spare, do it with no intention of buying anything just to make a point.
After arguing feverishly with leftists on Facebook for years before cold turkey leaving that cesspool about a year ago, I used to find myself in similar situations.
It's not impossible to "win" but they have to be in the right mindset to make any headway, and even then, it's not happening in one go.
Here's some pointers:
Stay polite and relaxed, no matter what. They withdraw and stop taking you seriously the moment you act serious. Weird phenomenon.
Ask them lots and lots of non-leading questions. But do lead them via the sequence of the questions you ask. "What are your thoughts on someone murdering a woman who is 8 months pregnant?" "Interesting. Do you consider that double homicide?" For example. Get them to navigate their own belief set. They'll inevitably encounter some logical inconsistencies on their own. Be like a shrink, really. After all, this is a mental problem were combating.
Data will help only in the mid to late game. If you think posting a link to a well researched source will save you, you're wrong. If they don't trust you, they won't trust your sources. Develope a little bit of comradery first.
If done online (like Facebook), remember, you're not trying to change their mind (exclusively), you're trying to change the minds of all the lurkers reading the back and forth. So again, stay civil. Win in the court of public opinion. You not win them, but you'll win over the audience.
So dumb. I am 99% confident that me (33), my wife (32), and my kiddo (1 year at the time) all got coronavirus earlier this year before anyone knew what it was. First time in my life ever bring sick for more than two days. My baby? Barely had any symptoms and powered right through it better than either of us. Kids are basically immune to it.

I think the point was that some teachers get generous salaries (plus benefits) while getting basically four months off per year. Continuing training? Ok? That's not unique. Many occupations have that requirement. Contractors, electricians, real estate loan brokers, insurance professionals, hair stylists, and God knows how many other occupations. Teachers also don't work weekends, holidays, or weird hours.
I work 50-60 hours per week. My clients have my cell. I get calls on high holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have clients drop in without appointments. I get calls at 10pm, 1am, and I'm expected to answer. I have continuing education I have to pay for. I have to renew my professional license each year. Have E&O insurance in case I fuck up. Some teachers got it easy.

Look at this situation, verbally assault couple, bang on their car, threaten violence, won't let them leave, followed them to their car in the first place. Do any of those things to a cop and see how that ends, and what the cop would do.
What the fuck do you think a cop does when someone threatens violence on them? They draw their gun. Doesn't mean they shoot, but they draw it.
Are you trying to be dense? Speech is not violence. But threats of violence are to be treated as such.
If someone says "fuck you!" Or "lower taxes!" That's not a threat of violence.
