I LOVE this tidbit of military history. Its so small and forgettable that unless you are specifically looking for it, it rarely comes up.
Interesting fact 1: China, a communist country, invades Vietnam, another communist country. Both countries had been public in their "Oriental brotherhood" and and Marxist camaraderie up until the actual invasion. This is NOT usual for commies to attack other commies.
Interesting fact 2: Give or take half a million chinese are involved in the invading forces. Give or take 60k casualties. An estimated little more than 10% of the invading force become killed or wounded in less than a month. That is ridiculously high rates of casualties. For comparison, America has only had 2 wars where we had something comparable. The Civil War and WWII. This rate is like WWI as well, but for the European nations. USA was involved later and had such high numbers going into it that the % doesn't match up well. Overall...over 10% is just BAD. 10% in a month is CRAZY.
Interesting fact 3: China retreats and still calls this conflict a "strategic victory". LOL.
Put it this way to anyone who wants to support this. "Are you OK with the state, when it comes to hiring public employees, like teachers, state law enforcement, even government contractors, ONLY hiring white people or ONLY men? If you have two candidates for a job and regardless of if they are equal for the position or not, the only deciding factor is their skin color...are you OK with that? Because this proposition repeals the law ALREADY saying that is all illegal. Its going backwards."
Let's put it this way. Thousands of dams built in the 50s but Mao's original communists are still standing. Not well, maybe, but I still wouldn't be surprised to see them outlast this monstrosity
A few months ago I'd never heard about it...but reading the reports on both sides is like staring into an abyss of crazy. Able to withstand a 10,000 year flood vs it won't make it to 50 years due to bad steel and worse concrete.
When the government "of the masses" flat out refuses to assist evacuations and land assignments to literal hundreds of millions...maybe we see a rise from the actual Chinese people. The totalitarian regime is not all of China.
I'm for going in and assisting a democratic surge in China. But it can't be done without the will and support of the Chinese people.
Very well done police line. Just about a textbook response. Front line member grabs, next one over assists. Further down the line step forward and closes the gap, isolating the target from support and allowing the original front line to deal with the person in relative peace.
Texas Law Shield. Group of lawyers that ONLY DO gun cases. They have sign ups at every LTC, training, and refresher course I've ever been to in Texas. For like $11 a month they are on 24/hr call. Everyone I've met who seriously carries every day seems to be a member.
Personally, I've only seen/heard them used once for an acquaintance. They were very impressive
Im not questioning the right to shoot. I am not questioning if she deserved it or not. I am questioning the actual shot. Personally, I would not have taken the shot. Gun safety, know your target and what is behind it. There is a man behind that target. Do I want to shoot that man, even accidentally? No...so I dont take the shot. Reposition and reassess.
Its not a revolution. Its a fireside, nighttime fuckboi party with people literally begging to get "bust on"!
