Honestly, until Trump starts to eliminate agencies and departments nothing is going to change. Everything he's done up until now is peanuts for what really needs to be done. He needs to reduce agency budgets to zero, eliminate all positions and other resources, and buy out of any extending contracts. Then, once there is only a shell remaining, force Congress to just eliminate them.
Otherwise, everything he's done will be undone with the next election.
Although this sounds great, it still puts us at the mercy of government. I'd much rather the SCOTUS rule that any laws prohibiting open/conceal carry is unconstitutional. I'm afraid that if this law goes through then SCOTUS will refuse to rule on the constitutionality of state laws since we are no longer "injured parties". I fear that this law is going to do more harm to our constitutional rights by forcing us to accept that we get permission through government.
