Which hospitals is this going down at? I can't recall seeing a single staff member NOT doing something at any given point in the day. I rarely have time to have a multi-sentence conversation unless I am either at lunch, speaking with a therapist/supervisor, or relevant sharing of information with a patient.
Nowhere in our entire system do we have time for this.

This is exactly why the author of the op-ed was right; the general public's idea, when they hear "doctor" is one in medicine, to address anybody not in healthcare (and maybe science) as "doctor" only adds to the confusion when not applied in the correct setting, i.e. Jill Biden.
