In years past, it was always the responsibility of the press to hold the current administration accountable, which is WAY different than setting verbal minefields to seed doubt that Trump is capable of making the right decisions.

Because any person who is around people all the time can get infected or infect another. Confused? No shit. This whole thing is unbelievable.

Big Pharma runs the medical industry in this country (hospitals, docs, labs, etc.). Pharma diagnostic codes are the Bible through which everything that happens to you while medically treated depends. Why? Because there is clinically evidence (aka, tested with statistical evidence of efficacy). In the case of all the diseases OP listed, there is medical protocol already in place. So you can't sue willy nilly if something else happens to you while 'under medical care.'

COVID-19 is a never before seen disease without medical protocol. And it seems to have two evolutions, the first mild, the second deadly. It can happen in young and old (not equally, of course) and with or without symptoms. Without statistical evidence to know if it could take out the entire US population, all the greatest minds and experts and supercomputers can only guess using what has worked with other epidemics. One thing that has worked is shutdown. Do you really think that this country would throw away trillions to the wind if it had another logical recourse?

Most people who judge Pres Trump for his personal characteristics are themselves insecure and intolerant. They would rather a professor whose rhetoric is literary and in reality, as slick as any lawyer's. The American people did not elect him because of his vocabulary, nor did they choose him because he is a perfect human being; in fact, we learned the hard way that the sophists in the Oval Office did nothing for the American people, but fill their pockets and those of their friends. Bashing anyone online should be met in the same way that bad behavior in children is met. Ignore and isolate, do not reinforce.

Eventually, when the numbers are low enough, that will happen.

Yep. Noticed in the comments that people noticed the edits. Pathetic.

Doesn't it have to be used within a certain timeframe to be effective; and if not, once the person is on a respirator, it's pretty much downhill? At least, I thought the doc interviewed by Rudy G. supported that idea.

Bill Gates Foundation with the World Health Org, funded a 'simulation pandemic exercise' in OCT 2019 (YouTube - Event 201 Pandemic- in which a team of private biz, public orgs (inc CDC) had to figure out a response to a world virus pandemic. That was two months, maybe earlier than the reported first case in Wuhan. What did they learn? Were those lessons communicated to the Trump admin's task force? What does he know that they don't?

The other word is 'learned helplessness'. Teach enough people to be victims, and they lose their own integrity.

And he was gone later that summer. What a different country we would have been had he lived.

Soon everyone will have access online to real time numbers in their vicinity, so the reality of this friggin monster is apparent.

In our Institute, which contains 75 individual rooms for treating highly contagious patients, we currently have a turnover rate of 1/3 which allows us to receive a large number of these contagious patients with early discharge."

This is the key. High turnover would alleviate overwhelming the hospitals.
