That’s the thing I’ve been explaining to people. I was in EMS since’93 and if I wore a surgical mask or cloth mask into a viral/bacteria environment for protection, they’d either fire me or send me back to training. No where was I ever trained by OSHA or my ER HR or any place to wear the wrong mask. Masks don’t work in a non-medical setting. No one follows any of the protocol outside of the “just wear a mask” mantra. They reuse them, touch them, wear them incorrectly, don’t wash hands, and put them into their pants pockets or purses. It’s my theory that masks are spreading the virus more than they are preventing it.
