I don't agree with any gun laws, but when you are mentioning having "the deadliest weapons", do you think there should be any reason for people to carry an XM25 air burst or an AT4 around in public? I'd honestly rather not have that. Having them at home is fine, but some people are stupid, and I'd rather not have them carrying incredibly destructive weaponry around like that.

Back in the late 1700's there was actually laws AGAINST concealing a weapon. Now, it's not exactly an apples to apples comparison to today, because back then it was normal for people to walk around with weapons. They assumed anybody that had reason to attempt to hide their weapon was up to no good. They weren't QUITE as friendly about gun rights back then as people assume.

I read something about a dude who liked to pretend he was a chick, who was with a chick who liked to pretend she was a dude... WTF. Basically, it's was a weird, complicated, straight relationship.

Yeah, people are acting like they can host vote for who's best and think it will actually work. Although, I don't think they will rig EVERY election ever from now on, maybe federal elections, but not every state. I guess it would depend on how much the candidate stands for America. If they are just an average conservative, probably not. If they are VERY MAGA, quite possibly.

The more people say the earth is round, the more I feel it's flat.

Now, THIS is what I was expecting when I got a cobalt frame. I looked up some pictures of cobalt, and they looked like this.

I wanted a grayish frame, but darker than gray. So, I saw this picture comparing gray and cobalt.

https://imgur.com/Aqc3gnG

When I got it, it looked NOTHING like that picture. If you do an image search, some look like this, and some looked bronze-gray, some look straight up brown.

On top of that, I don't under why they call it cobalt, lol. Cobalt is deep blue.

If it was ACTUALLY the color of the one in the link, it would match a tungsten slide perfectly.

That's what I thought when he told me, but I'm not joking. That's story is 100% legit as fuck.

Cobalt is kind of a weird color, too. I swear they have changed the mixture of something of the polymer for that one. I have seen cobalt ones look just darker gray, and I've seen them almost a brownish tint. I don't have one, but I did. I returned it because it didn't look like the picture when I ordered it. I've seen other people's pictures that DID look like that, though.

Does yours have a bronze/brownish tint to it?

G17

G19

https://www.rockeybrass.com/Rockey-Precision-Glock-19-CES-Slide-with-RMR-Cut_p_5851.html

Just FYI, It looks close in pictures, but it's not the same color as cobalt frames. It's like the texture of 1000 grit sandpaper and a combination of silver and gray (Not dark gray, but not light. It's darker gray than the P80 frames). It SIMILAR, but it doesn't quite have that same bronzeish tint like cobalt does. Although, I don't think there's really any other slide to perfectly match their cobalt. This would probably be the closest.

Yeah, forensic tech is fucking crazy these days. It's almost unfair how much they can tell.

Even stupid shit is getting too advanced. A few years ago, I was riding down the highway, and I saw a cop WAY behind me with his lights on. I was doing the speed limit or 1 over at most, and he got a bit closer, so I moved into the slow lane. He pulled in behind me. I kept driving for a second and was like, "What the fuck? I thinks he's pulling me over." So I pulled off, and he came up and asked if I knew why he pulled me over. I had no fucking clue. So, he told me I was going 14 over about 4 miles back. There was NO cops, so I was like how do you even know? He told me that an airplane spotted me, and was able to zoom in to see the make and model of my car, and read my plate.

What a bunch of horse shit.

So, if you were to grind off a serial, the gun wouldn't be traceable at a glance. They have this etching liquid stuff where they can put it on the serial plate and from the metal being worked when the serial was put on it, they can still make it readable even if it was scratches off. Also, they can find the paperwork from purchase, and compare it to the gun. If you purchased that gun, they can put 2 and 2 together.

If you were to sell it to someone, and they removed the serial plate, then I don't know how they can use identify it, but if they somehow figure it out, and you have no way of proving that you sold the gun or reported it stolen, you're in trouble. They look up records of sales for that particular model of gun, ask questions, or look for prints. They have ways to trace it if they look hard enough. They can even tell what type of gun/barrel was used if they can recover a fired bullet.

Doing ANYTHING above is HIGHLY illegal, and not recommend...

However, I don't have to worry about any of that, because there are no serialized parts on this gun, and it's never had a serial number. It's just a blank plate. I never removed or modified anything. It's was an unfinished frame that I finished myself. Therefore it didn't have to get a serial number because it wasn't considered a functional firearm. Completely legal to own, but not to sell or gift. If it was serialized, THEN it could be. However, unless it gets serialized it's legally stuck to you.

Technically it's still not COMPLETELY untraceable. Any time you purchase anything online, or use a credit/debit card, there are ways to trace things back to people. It's LESS traceable, but that's not really the main selling point of 80% guns. It's a benefit, but really they are a way to get around regulation. It can't be added to some sort of "firearms registry" in order to seize firearms or do a mandatory buyback, if they were to attempt something like that.

I see these people with cerakoted guns with an RMR, fancy grip sleeves, a suppressor, a massive compensator, and a magwell flare, and they look like they have been polished to sit on a showroom floor. Now, don't get me wrong, I like a good looking gun, but I like to use mine. A gun is a tool, and people down worry about getting a scratch on the chuck of a drill.

Well, it wouldn't let me attach at first, so I took a screenshot of the pic to lower the size. I tried making the post like 10 times and it kept fucking up, so I wasn't sure which picture I actually posted.

I have SOOO much trouble making image posts on here.

Hairy_Mouse 2 points ago +2 / -0

You know, I though about doing something like that to the serial plate.

Although, I was thinking of getting a middle finger etched in the plate with "ATF" inside of it.

Looks a bit odd just having a plain blank plate.

DC, New Jersey, and Washington already have laws against them. Although, it's weird because some places only say they won't ship them to New Jersey, but nothing about Washington or DC.

There for a while, they had temporary legislation that you couldn't order these in PA. Some places complied, and other still shipped. Eventually the temporary ban ended. It wasn't even actually law, just some order from the Governer.

I forget what the issue was, but a year or so back there was a lot of talk about issues with the 80%s. I thought they were gonna be done then, but nothing really happened. Although, Biden specifically mentioned wanting to do away with 80%s, so now is the time to buy the fuck out of them.

My next purchase is gonna be a strike 80 compact. Probably the nicest 80% G19 platform out there.

Actually, my gun looks okay with the tungsten color slide, but that wasn't even the one I wanted. I settled on that because I legit could not find a fucking slide besides some expensive as fuck crazy skeletonized ones.

I wanted plain black with a shiny stainless barrel, or a shiny stainless slide with a black barrel. The closest thing I could find was a black barrel and tungsten slide. It actually turned out pretty decent, though.

I have another one still in the jig that I'm gonna take a little time and do that one up nice. I'm also going to drill the holes on a press and bevel the edges of the pin hole. In the meantime, I plan on having it sent out for a custom stippling and undercut job before it's modified. That way it's not a firearm and can be mailed.

For what these P80s cost, the frame is VERY basic and no frills. For what it costs to do one up, I want one to look damn good.

Once I get the other frame customized and finished, I'm going for a G34 build with a chromed slide. It's a black frame as well.

Well, it's serialized, but it's not unique to you, know what I mean? When you purchase a gun, there is paperwork linking that serial (and thus firearm) to you. There is no paperwork to the barrel, and its not a regulated item.

If they come rounding up everyone's guns one day, there's no paperwork for them to trace to you, and the barrel isn't a firearm anyways.

ALL slide prices are fucking insane. You can build an AR for what a decent one of these fucking things cost to build.

I legitimately CANNOT COMPREHEND why slides are so damn expensive.

Seriously, look at the price for a stripped AR upper (or lower), and then look at the price of a slide. AR parts are more material and take more milling.

That gun in my picture was about $600.

These are $380 brand new, fully built... https://www.vanceoutdoors.com/products2.cfm/ID/155027

That's where it's at. I'm sure these won't be around much longer. 3d printer is de way.

I've been waiting for some more advances and better tech to come along, but I plan to go down that route soon.
