In response to an uptick in cases at my workplace (12 cases out of 650 employees), our management decided that masks should be worn at all times (old policy said only within 6 feet of another worker) even if you’re doing hot work or lifting. Cases quadrupled in 2 weeks after holding steady for 6 solid months. This was without any increase in testing and before the cold weather showed up.
It also resulted in nearly 70 people receiving write-ups in the first two days of the new policy being in place.
Should also mention that not one single person here has been hospitalized or suffered any serious long term effects, including some of those infected who are elderly.
