If my memory serves me right, the entire east coast power grid basically relies on one major transmission line (or so few that it is basically one line). When I lived there, they were trying to build another major transmission line to provide additional backup to the grid and all the nimby's got it denied. So that's why the power always goes out on the east coast. Midwest, nice good grid, well paid union workers with a contract that requires them to work during outages = few outages, when there are outages, they are short lived.

I laid most of it out this week for my very liberal BIL with his wife fervently nodding the whole time along with my father in law. Rad pills cautiously laid. They were waiting for him to open the conversation, and when he did, we/I did not hold back. Unfortunately it’s too late, but at least he understand when the shit hits the fan very soon.
More so, the entire republican party is dead as the majority is currently looking like traitors to their country. I am done identifying with traitors. I welcome a new party whether it be the Patriot Party, MAGA Party or another name. I personally like the name Patriots of the United States Party.

I currently live in IL (moving to FL!). We have vaccinated over 50% of our population, but our covid cases are going up even as more people are getting the vax. Doesn't add up. The opposite should be happening. And everyone just keeps wearing their mask. Cases keep going up. Last night I said hopefully we can stop wearing our masks soon, and my companion (an 80+ year old woman) said oh no, we have to keep wearing them. I asked why? If you've gotten the vax, why should you wear the mask? She then said she lived through polio, scarlet fever, and has never seen this happen. Wake TF up!!!
