The only thing that could remotely make any sense in terms of the citizen residents who live in DC (which frankly never should've been allowed to happen), would be for that portion of DC to be absorbed back into Maryland. Not saying I want to do that, but that's the only thing that would make any sense. Making that area itself a state makes no sense.
Why do these people think DC ever existed in the first place? Precisely because it's supposed to be a place that IS NOT a state.
