One to the dome, can be survived. You can survive with half your brain missing. Multiple shots to different organs ensures it’s not painful. Plus firing squads have a tradition of one random gun’s bullet being a blank, so the squad members don’t know if they actually they fired.

No joke, death by firing squad is the most humane way to be executed. The signal propagation of neurons is ≈ 70 meters a second or 156 mph. Bullets go faster. Literally,(provided the ammo is supersonic) the person is dead before the brain has even been able to register the sound of the gun shot.
