But then he changes stance again by the end of the series and suggests "there's no plan". Which almost certainly means there's a plan, but we're not supposed to spoil it.
Byrne explains that Trump named Sidney special prosecutor, and later seemingly backed down and didn't uphold the offer. That's the unknown factor. We don't know the full details on this.
There is a chance that Byrne and Flynn truly were disappointed and felt defeated on that front, but I am thinking there's more to come. Sidney is due in court soon.
