I've noticed the connection between letting people get away with things that they know are wrong, and hating the system that let's them do it. I think they know they are being treated like children who can't be held accountable but is that any way for a adult to feel? It's demoralizing, which leads to anger and more bad behavior.
Children crave structure and boundaries, everyone knows that.
I'm a lifelong atheist myself and I've spent decades debating people online about Christianity and religion while floated around it IRL. I have a pretty good grasp on how it works on people emotionally and how it effects their behavior and now it's always obvious to me when a news story or cause or movement becomes a stand in religion for people. At first I thought it was just the media convincing people but there was more to it. It all clicked for me when the Woman's March started. It was a movement, a career for some, a meaning of life for others, and obsession....and I realized exactly what it was, It's WAY more obvious right now with BLM since we've got white people on their knees confessing sins and whatnot and feeling absolute giddy over the goodness they feel when they march with a sign and think they are SAVING the world and absolved of sin. Most telling is how they try to force others to join since they still need the approval of others.
It should, by force, be limited to 50 people or less per the quarantine rules. People can ZOOM in instead.
One thing I hate about our society is how we martyr certain people who get caught up in a zeitgeist while ignoring other people in the exact same position. I also felt this when I donated to someone on GoFundMe who's shop was destroyed by rioters and realized that after a disaster the first person who catches attention gets millions while others maybe $5k.
It's always been black people to me since I only ever have to think about it when I'm pointing someone out in a crowed, ie :that black guy over there. But now this leaves out any non white/black minorities who will have to come up with their own names. Pocks is over, I celebrate.
In my area they are basically strolling by the beach or hanging in a park so nobody should be providing anything. If they can't take their own water and granola bar then it doesn't matter what they are protesting because they are clearly idiots
Kneeling is not something I can get behind. Despite what Colin Kapernick did kneeling is a sign of weakness and is demoralizing. People kneel in church to show their lowliness in the eyes of god, but there is nobody else we should feel low around. I loose respect for anyone who kneels and don't want them in charge of anything.
LA citizens are going to see a big tax hike to make up for this
He's watching you knowing whatever he say's you're ready to drag him for days for using a word in a way you didn't like. Or maybe he was standing next to something that nobody gave him permission to stand next to. You know the drill.
Besides, this is a BLM movement, they should be the ones stepping up to address the nation. This isn't anything the Federal Gov started.
You know there's nothing left for the wanna be revolutionaries to complain about when the complaints they sent are that someone is Republican or retweeted/liked a conservative comment or is pro Trump. That's all a sign of people looking to be offended but not quite understanding what they should be offended by.
Too bad someone didn't go ham on them and send in complaints against liberals
When did kneeling become a thing? It's not like some long standing American tradition but people are demanding police do this for some crazy reason. I wouldn't kneel for anyone or cause regardless of how much I supported it. It's demeaning.
I seems to me the DNC doesn't want to be on good terms with police at the moment. I suppose if they thought police mostly leaned right or supported Trump they could demonize them and try to turn the public against them, using the George Floyd death as a flashpoint.
I'm pretty sure "we feel your pain" is a platitude that nobody wants to hear.
Besides, this is ALL marketing. All these posts by businesses, corporations, and even some individuals. MARKETING. Striking while the iron is hot. Which is why nobody does anything without announcing it.
Listening sessions? Umm. How about no. Maybe he can invite someone to dinner instead if he thinks there's anything that he can help with. But listening isn't all it's cracked up to be when the speakers ramble, are all over the map, or demand things that are impossible (ie: end all racism!!) Plus it usually involves the person in power to bend over to show the world what a great guy they are and I don't think Trump is bendy.
I couldn't continue after he told her what he wanted to do, and seeing the still shot above. OMGOMGOMG what is wrong with people? I'm dying of cringe over here! I'd have either laughed or just kept walking. Like when I'm targeted by those those religious loons who want to convert me on the street in SF.
I don't think there a unified answer within the black community. That's like asking any random group of people who are left handed "what do you want?". People are different. We get a limited view of people from the media, they basically cast those they put in front of the camera to tell the story they want to tell.
Honestly I don't even want to ask the question because the only realistic thing they can have is what everyone else gets, nothing more and nothing less. This cop situation, it's not a black thing at all. There have been white people killed just as recklessly and at least one has a horrifying video too. Everyone is on the same page about this and I'm stumped why anyone is protesting, much less turning it into a daily ritual. It's creepy as hell. I still want police reforms of course (I wanted that before George died and have been talking about it for 2 decades), but George Floyd and the protesters? I really don't want to hear about them anymore because it's become warped and weird.
The looters and firebugs can go to jail or hell, I don't care which.
Clowny but confusing. The reporter was not making it clear to me what was what and the owners had guns so I'm sure the police were focused on that first and foremost. Everyone pointing at people and trying to explain over each other is not the stuff that makes a good situation.
I've only heard of this because the MSM talks about it and blames it for things. I think it's the new Gamergate.. another vague, unknown, unidentifiable enemy with reach and power beyond anything we've ever seen! They are here! They are there! They are everywhere! Doing everything we hate!
