Ballot harvesting was never legal in CA until Jerry Brown approved it on his way out the door. I couldn't believe he did that since despite the "good reasons" for it everyone knows it jumps straight to corruption, but I guess that's why he did it.
About those “found” ballots that are so common these days...if they are out of official chain of control for even a day then discovered later (trunk, closet, backpack, etc) then they should be suspect. Of course there’s the problem with biased poll workers “misplacing” ballots in an area known to lean R it L or whatever THEY are against too.
They won't clean up the voter rolls either so anyone who's ever been able to vote in CA and hasn't been deleted, and anyone who just decided to vote right up until the final moment, with no verification, will see their votes counted. Nobody ever goes back to make sure the votes cast are valid, it's too much work.
You know, I think it's much better for governments to take an advisory role rather than a authoritative one. People would be more likely to listen and go along with things when the government acknowledges that they don't have the power to demand anyone give up their Constitutional Rights.
Last gasp.....it's never pretty but in his case it's extra ugly.
