I’m personally torn on this. Yes I’d rather not have a bunch of people having babies they don’t care about. BUT, I’d even more rather them take some responsibility and just be good people..

JOCO is a great area, but I agree it’s incredibly blue. I wonder how that would change if the Plaza protests/riot moved over to Town Center! Many of them promote the victimization of African-Americans but are absolutely terrified to drive down Troost or Prospect. I think many of them are becoming out of touch as future generations are being fed with the silver spoon.
Hi neighbor, Missourian here. Lawrence and Topeka are absolute shitholes and there’s so much “white guilt” festering in Johnson county. I have a few co-workers in Johnson county who were all about BLM but were scared to drive through rougher parts of KC (wonder why). The Kansas governor absolutely baffles me. The majority of the state is incredibly rural and there’s no need for the mask mandate. I don’t think that the major cities there reflect true Kansas values. I would agree and hope it would become an area where sensible people flock to, however with the growth of Johnson county it makes me nervous!

I graduated in 2013- in my high school (probably 60% white, 30% Hispanic, and 10% black) the only fights between girls were black girls. Again just my experience... but I don’t recall any black girls in the top of my class and they were always the most defiant and argumentative against teachers and other students.

I just don’t get it. Felons have proven they don’t care about rules and authority, so why does their opinion on it matter? They’ve turned their back on society and it’s standards so I really don’t see why they should be allowed to vote.

Kansas City gal here - lived in the suburbs for my first 23 years and just last year moved to the “hood”. And let me tell ya, the people here make their neighborhoods this way! Music blasting at 3 in the morning, racing cars through busy intersections. There’s really a lack of care for others. I know at the stoplight near my house I have to stop, no matter if it’s green, because people will fly through it without looking. My lease ends in a bit over a year and my boyfriend and I know we’re moving to rural Missouri. We really thought living in the city would make us understand people around here more but it’s done the opposite! As soon as BLM started we knew we could live here much longer, the week of the protests at the Plaza a group of teenagers broke into our mailman’s van and stole all of the packages, FROM THEIR OWN NEIGHBORS!
Sorry for the ranting! But I’m glad the federal agents are coming to assist the city. Yet there are still ignorant fools I went to school with who are crying and pleading for defunding the police..
