Best way to be less white by Coke's own definitions (perfectionism, punctuality, capitalism, etc.) would not be just to acknowledge or own internal racism, but to actively dismantle it and the racism in those around us. I propose we help Coke out by helping them eliminate their capitalist exploitation of people. Stop paying for Coke products. If you want a coke, just take it. After all, if we were well cared for by our society, we wouldn't need to, and being thirsty, we clearly need the product more than the company does. If they needed it, they wouldn't try to exploit others by trying to sell it. Compassion is a hard learned lesson, and since people of color are more impacted by the price of Coke, it's both racist and cruel of them to expect compensation.
Being a man is only half of the social contract- real men who are providers, protectors, and leaders deserve real women. Real women understand the power they have over men, and learn quickly not to abuse it. Half our problems stem from the simple fact that men's social capital has to be earned, while women start off with unearned social capital they do not understand. That unearned capital fades with youth if abused or left uncultivated- and young women who never learn to cultivate it become resentful cat ladies. Teach your daughters to be real women- teach them to be grateful and respectful to their men! This does not require subservience; in fact, it promotes an equal partnership.
That is really frustrating :( i know how you feel- I had to sell all my bitcoin holdings when I got this job, because my firm's platform doesn't support it and I couldn't get approved for an outside account. I still say worth it for the job, but it hurt to watch the value spike so hard from the sidelines. I wish the restrictions didn't apply to spouses- that in particular stinks, because your spouse has to be on board with the sacrifice.
Actually this is not what it appears. ALL financial firms are subject to certain federal controls as well as industry agency (specifically FINRA), and one of the requirements is that they track everything their employees do, even off the clock. I'm just a broker, and we're subjected to such scrutiny that I have to give my banking info to my company, and I cannot have accounts they do not approve. This also applies to political contributions, as financial services employees have restrictions on donation amounts that other people don't have, so that the firm can avoid even appearing to have a conflict of interest. I'm not a particular fan of Lincoln Financial, but this is not anything related to left vs. Right or political discrimination. They just throw the termination clause in so that if we get caught doing something unsavory in our personal lives, the firm can disavow.
Fox News made the naughty list- angry Santa will teach them a lesson.
I have a B.S. in Microbiology M.A. in Psychology and $85k in debt. I will pay it all off, I don't want handouts, I will pay for my own mistakes, but I do want this to stop. I do not use my degrees- I'm a stock broker. Of the 8 years I spent in school, about 30% was actually useful; the rest was all social justice or common core (which, why take all that in high school only to repeat in college?)
When I signed the dotted line, I did so because I was told that if I didn't, flipping burgers was my future. I had no idea how interest, credit, or loans worked- and the amount of money proposed was abstract, as the most I'd ever seen was about $1000. It has been 8 years since I graduated, and I've made progress, but the loans meant delaying moving out before I got married, and I cannot afford children (and won't be able to before I hit menopause).
While I love the sentiment, never underestimate your enemy. They aren't inept- they're very intentional in their corruption, and from the fact that large portions of the population still believe they're a good agency staffed by good people doing good work, it's clear they're quite good at corruption. Not so much investigation, but who needs that? Federal Bureau of Ignominy.
It is possible- and I enjoy most attempts, actually. You meet good people by being open to what they have to say, and it's irresponsible to claim a belief if it isn't one forged in the fire of contest- religious or not.
And in the meantime, I'm glad that there are so many people working to protect the culture in which such discussions can take place. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's not a huge deal; I really actually am pleasantly surprised that you replied at all, let alone politely! I hesitated to even say anything. I only did because I know how it is to be militant, as I once was. I even told a gentleman that his children should be removed from his care for their own protection because he was a creationist, and they couldn't have a good future with him even if he loved them.
I was militant because I was angry, even if I didn't admit or identify it. Every negative encounter with Christians only solidified that. I HATED Christians.
I only changed because I was proven to be the real asshole by good people doing good things who happened to be Christian. Thru didn't have to point out my hypocrisy; it became plainly obvious over time. Hard to claim to be the good guy when you just bring pain and suck energy wherever you go, and the people you hate bring joy.
I cannot believe in the supernatural, but I do now believe that we as a nation NEED you people. We need christianity. But, had I not been lucky enough to stumble on the people who helped me, I would have gone on hating Christians forever, partly due to stubbornness and partly due to negative reinforcement.
The point is, avoid the negative reinforcement. And, for what it's worth, I'm impressed with how you have responded to the input. Most would not be so receptive- I genuinely appreciate this. I continue to be blown away by how good this community really is :)
I am an atheist- one of those who typically doesn't say so. There are more of us than many realize...
How many atheists have you actually spoken with? If your answer is, "all the vocal ones with blue bob hair cuts," I suggest that you speak with a few more. Perhaps some who aren't also Democrats.
No, that is a waste! Be pragmatic. His liver is worth about $15k, his heart about $20k, etc. We have an organ shortage and really high health care costs. We can be culturally literate and thrifty at the same time.
Depends on what you count as "terror" and what you count as "right-wing/white supremacist." If you're citing a statistic which (as is frequently the case) includes literally everything except specifically black ethnonationalist attacks as right-wing/white supremacist, then yes, that would be true. If the definition of terror also leaves out gang crime and shootings in cities, then again, yes, you would be right. But, if you define the terms as society/most normal people understand them, then no, you would be very wrong. I encourage you to look at the definition of terms your source is using.
