Couldn't they take the ballots and count them super fast using a weighing machine with a tare function? We do that at work during inventory... The machine deducts the weight of the container, drop a few screws in it, tell it how many you put it... Then you can dump them all and it measures them super accurately. Multiple people could weigh stacks of ballots continuously and have an accurate tally in a day i bet.
Wouldn't be be able to prove rescanning of ballots with a simple tare weight measurement? At work, whenever we do inventory, we can measure massive amounts of screws by weighing a couple... Then the machine knows how much each individual one weighs plus the box. So couldn't we do that with the ballots themselves? You could measure a zillion ballots in one day and see how many come up short. I suppose it depends on how they're stored... But you literally would just have to take piles out of the boxes, put them on the device, put them back in the box.

The problem with your line of thinking is that altruism deprives the people/person of their own success, and perpetuates more bad decision making that got them into the mess in the first place. Kind of like when a poor person wins the lottery, then ends up poor again 5 years later. What good what altruism be if it was directed at someone like that? On the other hand, there might be people who are truly unlucky and deserve help, I highly doubt she'd be against that kind of altruism.
