I think this is something we’re supposed to convince our friends and family who are on the fence about this to do. The point isn’t to wait to do it ourselves, it’s to organize the masses.

I agree with you on a personal level; I don’t wear them either. But I think the point of the date is to get the word out to those who may have been on the fence for a while. Also, I could be wrong but I believe that’s the date most of this bullshit started.

I need to memorize this and use it as my answer whenever anyone asks if I have one!

It’s sad to say, but I had no idea until I saw this post. Football was such a huge part of my life for years, and now I never even think about it.

True. But that was the match that set off the powder keg, so unfortunately that’s what everyone remembers.

I’m starting to think this wouldn’t be a horrible option, if we could cut it off across the board and actually enforce it.
