I think they will still let you sell, but with locking out buyers it could cause the price to fall as the hedge funds drive down the price. If no one sells during the hedge fund action, price could go back up... or not, if buyers are still locked out.
How to handle would depend on how risk adverse you are. If 100% scared, sell and take your lumps. If 100% confident it will bounce back, hold the line.

If, for any reason, you do need to get bumped (sometimes you were the last one booked, no seat assignment at ticketing, and you don't have a seat at all), then don't settle for anything less than at least $500 voucher + hotel + meals.
They sometimes offer more, but that amount is pretty standard without them having to get special approval.
