Driver isn’t up to date paying the buy-here-pay-here lot where she bought her car.
Immobilizers prevent starting the car but they don’t kill the car while it is running.
Fairway Frank all over again.
That’s a lot of damage!
You could just say crime.
Exactly.

It occurs to me that Big Mike is even more muscular than this fella here.

Tweets about legal proceedings by folks who don’t know the difference between implemented and implicated are below suspicion.
Then I suppose you don't know any mechanics that own their businesses.
They don’t call it malpractice, and it typically is purchased by their employers, not by the mechanics themselves.
It is colloquially called garage insurance, more accurately ”auto service and repair insurance.”
It is typically a mix of commercial general liability, E&O (errors and omissions, the non-medical equivalent of malpractice) and some level of property insurance.

We rushed to court this morning to try to stop this. Families across Texas are being investigated and care is being halted. It is a disaster. They are trying to stop kids from being trans - but you can't make us not trans you can only make us not alive. twitter.com/jdavidgoodman/…

Reportedly these were so loud that they would set dry brush in front of the horns on fire!
Chrysler literature of the time claimed the siren would cause immediate damage to unprotected ears, could dissipate clouds, turn fog into rain and if pointed directly at dry brush, could cause a fire.
Is that Scottie Wallis?

I think there's truth on both sides of this argument.
There's a lot of bias in the selection bias (survivorship bias) in the cars that make it to you.
By definition only problems that are not solved by the parts-cannon make it to you to get repaired.
DIY'ers firing their own parts cannon at their own car often gets to a lowest-cost solution. On the flip side filling the cannon with aftermarket junk parts often creates problems of their own.
What is truly unforgivable is "professional" mechanics who break out the parts cannon, though I suppose those guys keep you busy.
