yeah it has. I remember a story about a three year old girl killed by thugs in East St. Louis. Perps were black, child and her family white. They shot her intentionally. Can't recall if she was in or outside of the car.
Very true. All of it. My mom and her sisters were raised by a single mom during the depression. She was single because her husband died at 30. My grandmother went on "relief" for less than a year because she hated getting handouts. She found a factory job and worked the overnight shift while a neighbor babysat her daughters who were then six and under. My mom told me their greatest wish was to have a father, and husband for their mother.
For me, ,it all goes back to the God made us the way we are for a reason. For people who don't believe in God I can see where this is very problematic. In my own experience I've kinda managed to have, it not all, quite a bit. Raised my family, went back to school and now have a career that I love. I very much loved raising children but that is finite. I myself was a latchkey kid before that was even a thing and I hated coming home to an empty house after school. I wanted my children to have better than that.
So Heelsup has been passing all these years. Interesting. I worked with a woman for several months assuming from her appearance that she was African American. Then one day she came to work dressed in a Sari. I complimented her on her outfit and she told me it was in honor of Diwali which she and her family were celebrating. She told me both her parents were born in India and they wanted to keep the traditions alive here for their grandchildren. BTW, I wasn't the only one surprised by her actual ethnicity.
I was on FB a few days ago (have to see what the enemy is saying). I typed Heels up Harris and posted it. It was automatically changed to Robert Harris. So I noted the change and typed that her name is actually Heals Up, but left off Harris. Sheesh
Teacher says: "I've been thinking about this too. Re: pronouns I was going to ask students via survey who I could use their pronouns in front of, but what if caregivers view that survey and students aren't out to them yet?" Not only is the entire "pronoun" thing effed up, but she refers to parents as caregivers. Homeschool your kids. Even if you have to make some big financial sacrifices.
Prayers for President Trump, and his family. Losing a sibling you love is very sad and difficult.
