Maybe something crazy will happen, but I'm all out of hopium. I hate to doom, but I'm bumming out over here, struggling to get any work done, because all I can think about is how much we've failed all Americans who came before us, and fought so hard for the country. We've got barely more than 24 hours left of the existence of the United States of America. Sure, it'll exist in name only for a bit longer, but it died with the blatantly stolen election and military-protected installation of a puppet president about to take place tomorrow. My flag flies upside down as of noon tomorrow. :( We are occupied, we've lost our sovereignty, we have no representation, no fair elections to change that, and no ability to even fight for change without being stomped out. Hell, we aren't even allowed to speak our thoughts online or in public
Nothing crazy, and a somewhat long story, but it was a nice little moment of victory and mutual respect and understanding — a rare moment in these turbulent and divisive times. It's a rare thing these days, and I'm pretty stoked about it, especially since he's a kind of intelligentsia lefty, so I wanted to share — if anything, to show that there are still many out there that can be awakened — they just haven't been presented with the right information. So, I've known him my whole life, since kindergarten, and was always... friendly with him, but never super close friends or anything. That said, he's really intelligent - we both finished around top 5% in our class - and he ended up in the naval academy, and with a position that requires being absolutely brilliant (I don't want to say too much/be too specific, just to not give out too many details).
In any case, my posts in the past were always really civil, written well, incredibly well researched, and I'd always debate civilly even when people would call me the nastiest names, etc. Sometime between the riots and the election, I finally just lost my cool, and my posts became more and more inflammatory. I didn't care anymore, had no interest in civil discourse anymore (since I'd now experienced 5 years of incivility and being called racist sexist nazi fascist, etc), and was almost trolling w/ intentionally offensive posts. When I began seeing all the posts about Wednesday — all the pearl clutching and boot licking, saying it was terrorism, and bringing ridiculous arguments about race into it, I lost my mind. While my post was still rational/making good points, I also intentionally said something along the lines of "all you that spent an entire summer/fall defending riots, burning, murders, etc, and are now calling this terrorism, or somehow making it about race, are genuinely retarded - honestly, please comment if you disagree to make my job in cleaning out my friends' list easier."
Well... it started with unfriending about 10 people I barely know fairly quickly. Then, this old childhood friend, who I haven't seen in ~15 years, responded with a long post. It was kind of in the style of how I used to debate online (civil, well thought out, fairly long, etc). We got into discussion, and because he brought race into it (saying something about white privilege and how I "just can't understand," — a sentiment that makes me lose my mind lol), I started trying to direct him to some videos, particularly Larry Elder and Thomas Sowell, while also making my points.
I ended up linking the Rubin interview where Larry essentially completely changed Rubin's mind on racism (and really everything — that was definitely Rubin's major redpill moment). I honestly didn't think he'd watch it, but he gets back a day later telling me he ended up watching all his interviews and a number of videos with them. I'm trying to get him to watch a few videos w/ James Lindsay and Peter Boghossian now, so he has a better understanding of my perspective and why I rag on anything relating to critical theory, and the general "woke/intersectional" ideology and SJW culture, now.
In any case, I don't think I made a massive impact overnight, but with the help of these videos, and the right kind of discussion, I think I definitely helped plant a seed that may one day flourish into a good, intelligent, rational conservative (or at least anti-leftist).
So, long story short (well, long, but shorter): I remember when MaidenGate first broke, and the person who discovered it posted here (I believe. Or if not, their explanation was posted here), and they went into detail on how it worked, and that it wasn't just targeting women to use their maiden name, but targeting all people. One scenario that was outlined was them using texts to try and find out if registered voters were voting in-person or not. This got me thinking...
Because on election day, just after I got back from voting early in the morning, I received a text along the lines of "Hey [my name], it's [their name] from [whatever commie cheating organization]. Today is election day! Have you voted at [my former polling location where I used to live/was registered, @ location's address], yet?" I hadn't responded to any of the dozens of election texts I'd received, and for some reason, this was the one single text I responded to. I simply said: not my polling location anymore, but yes, I voted today, thanks."
Then, I read the post here about this, and realized I may have just given them the info needed for them to send someone to vote in my name where I used to live, and was still registered. Unfortunately, where I live, it's super easy to cheat, because we have very lax voting laws. For instance, same-day registration (which I admittedly did. I've moved since '16, so I registered on 11/3 this year at my new location, and was thus still registered where I used to live). Further, no ID or anything needed if already registered. So, they now knew I was registered, and wasn't going to be voting at that location, since it isn't where I live anymore.
I couldn't verify any of this, because they make it IMPOSSIBLE to track your vote, especially in my state. Best I could find was something that tracks your mail-in ballot, which I did not do. So, after MANY calls to (former location) town hall, I was told that I (not me, but my name) did in fact vote in-person on 11/3 where I used to live/be registered. They wouldn't tell me who I voted for. But, it took me calling many days before even getting this answer. And took hours on the phone, being redirected over and over to i don't even know how many people.
Long story short: I had a hunch this had happened, and confirmed it today. Given the lax voting laws here, I'm convinced Trump also won NH easily. ESPECIALLY given these facts: he lost by like, less than 2000 votes in '16. And in '16, we had Gary Johnson getting a fair amount of votes (HUGE libertarian base in NH. Arguably the largest Libertarian base/movement in the country), and that wasn't the case this election — almost all libertarian (little l/citizens with libertarian ideology) have moved to Trump supporters. And second, none of our major schools are in session — or, at least not doing on-campus (I know this personally, as I'm in academia, live in a college town, etc), so we have thousands less out of state students here now then we did in '16. Those two things alone make up that 2,000 difference from '16, yet he lost the state by far larger margins? Nope, not buying it. They amped their cheating up. Bussed in more Mass residences, and did things like what happened to me, among far more ways of cushioning a (fake) Biden lead. They stole NH, just like probably 90% of every state Biden allegedly "won"
I know this is a long shot, but any chance there's anybody in the new england area that has something like an M400 or AR-15 available through private sale? (totally legal in my state/not trying to do anything illegal. I just much prefer to buy privately).
Not expecting much from this, and thinking of heading to the local store today to see if I can find anything, but given how picked over and out of stock of eveything they've been for months, I don't think I'll find much.
Anywho, cheers all. Hoping these don't get much action anytime soon, but looks like we're on the precipice of the 4th box
and lastly, if a post like this isn't allowed, apologies, mods can delete or ask me to take it down
Thomas Paine's The American Crisis updated for today. Surprisingly little was altered (and I'll continue after the third paragraph later/after work -- or you may all do so yourselves, here):
These are the times that reveal American’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, and democrat fraud, like hell, are not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, and the greater the coup, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, as Biden did votes, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon goods, and upon ballots; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM, and INTEGRITY OF ELECTIONS, should not be highly rated. The DNC, with an army of useful idiots and mainstream media to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to wrongfully declare victory) but “to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER,” and if being bound in that manner, to a fraudulent leader, is not slavery, then there is no such thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious; for so unlimited a power can belong only to God (and, followed by, President Trump).
Whether the winner of the continent was declared too soon, and the victor of other states of that continent delayed too long, is precisely the argument; my own simple opinion is, we are currently experiencing the greatest fraud in American history, and stopping it last election would have been much better. We did not take proper measures last election, nor could we, while we were in a dependent, deep state. However, the fault, if it were one, was not our own; we have plenty to blame, as well as ourselves. But no great deal, and no election, is lost yet. All that Trump has been doing for this month past, is rather a ravage than a conquest, which the spirit of many Americans, a year ago, would have quickly repulsed, and which time and a little resolution will soon recover.
The present season is worth an age, if rightly employed; but, if lost or neglected, the whole continent will partake of the evil; and there is no punishment that man does not deserve, be he who, or what, or where he will, that may be the means of sacrificing a season, and election, so precious and useful.
Hey all! I'm pretty decent at making memes, as well as videos, but have never done one of this type, so I am either offering up this idea for anyone willing to make it, OR, I will personally make it (I have a lot of video editing software) if someone can tell me how to do certain aspects.
The Idea:
Sometime in the 80s, two college football teams were playing — you've probably seen this clip (I forget the teams). The game was basically over. No time left, and a kickoff to the losing team as time expired. They had no chance!! The guy starts to return the kickoff, and the other team is already celebrating, with the band marching onto the field. The team receiving starts doing all kinds of laterals, passes and crazy moves, and they are moving the ball up the field quickly as the band marches on. The announcer sees what's happening, and is shouting the now famous "THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD!!" Player plows through a trombone (or trumpet? drummer?) player, and eventually scores the touchdown to win the game.
I've already posted this on FB, with no caption or context, just the raw video to show why not to celebrate early. But I'd like to put Trump's face over the the guy(s) returning the football, and either Joe Biden's face, or just "the dems" or "media" or similar above the band and losing team. Ideas welcome, but I'm essentially asking: how do I get faces over the players, and to move with them, in a video? If that can be explained, I'll make this, and if not, ANYONE, please feel free to steal my idea and make this meme!
There's still time, and this isn't a doomer post, but the very fact that Trump isn't already declared the winner, the current election map looks the way it does, and the level of evidenced fraud we've already seen shows, even if Trump pulls this out and is eventually declared the winner, we live in a Banana Republic. Our election integrity is shot -- nobody will ever trust our elections again, and it's clear that the establishment/uniparty/deep state/globalists, etc, decide who will run and win -- Trump was simply an anomaly, and the first to manage a way around it. Thankfully, he exposed it all, but we need another 4 years.
Long story short -- we are now a Banana Republic, official and proven, and this is true even if Trump can pull through. If Biden wins, we're doomed, and we can say goodbye to our country, constitution, freedom, and sovereignty, BUT if Trump can pull this off with recounts, legal battles, etc, there is still a chance, and will take our help, and Trump going complete scorched earth. We need major reform to secure elections, we need voter ID, we need a better way for individuals to easily track their own votes (should be a publicly accessible database with all relevant info in a spreadsheet), we need a constitutional amendment to prevent court stacking, and we need to completely decimate the left and establishment to ensure they can never pull this kind of shit again (not just the election, but everything they've been doing.
I'm so fucking fed up. Praying for Trump, praying for this country, and praying for my family (which we, unfortunately, won't be able to afford to finally start if Biden wins. My fiance will be devastated [me too, but her especially]).
I can't believe what we're becoming, this is just unreal. Wish I could just go back in time to real America -- being in my 30s, I've only experienced 4 years of it (with at least a decent amount of it in the 90s, but not quite).
NOT GIVING UP but... I'm not feeling great either.
In any case, I love you all, and I love the culture and movement started by Trump, found in (and outside of) TD.W community -- we can NEVER let this die, even after Trump (whether that's soon, or in 2024). Trump's legacy must live on, have a major cultural effect on this country, and motivate people like us to continue fighting. Seems like an impossible battle without Trump at the helm, but we must never quit -- our country and future is at stake, and we can not let the commies trojan horse their way in through a blabbering, old, corrupt, perverted and criminal goon
Edit - OH! And FUCK Fox News!! Not only did they fully expose themselves as what we already knew them to be, BUT they also exposed themselves as being involved in this long-coordinated psyop and election scheme that was part of "the plan," the "insurance policy," or just the general plan to cheat/steal/fraud their way into winning this election and getting Trump out. Stupid move on their part: should they succeed, their network is DONE (especially when Trump decides to start his own, take Tucker [and others] with him, and obliterate Fox)
Not to be pessimistic, but it's the only way. The fix is in, and WI, MI and AZ are about to (and some sources, already called) go to Biden, and we all know what's going to happen in PA. He needs to get ahead of this now, and outlined exactly what's happening. Whether he declares victory is a more difficult one I'm torn on, but I think the time is over to play by rules - just outline the fraud and declare victory, and let them all go nuts. Without a MASSIVE fight from Trump, and US (he's just one man, he can't do ths alone, even with a team of lawyers), this election is over, stolen and handed back to the deep state globalists
My fiancee and I tend to watch all the older shows we grew up with when we're in bed and falling asleep. We've noticed this for a while now, comparing old and new shows, but we've really been noticing it lately as we watch old episodes of Boy Meets World, a popular 90s kids show when we were growing up. I can't remember all the examples but we keep finding great little parts of episodes that we immediately recognize not only as wholesome, and good messages for kids, but also as messages we'd never hear today on TV. We then talk about what that episode would look like if it came out today.
First, we were watching an episode where the students are upset about how many finals they have in one day. They appoint Cory to be... basically their representative to talk to Mr. Feeny (the principal) and get the schedule changed. Mr. Feeny essentially tells him "you've known about this schedule for weeks, and you come to me to complain a day before? Sorry, the schedule stands." Cory delivers the bad news, and the students are pissed off. They essentially form a mob, and go to the school to essentially riot and burn it down. Even his friend Shawn is initially on that side. But as things come to a head at the school, both Cory and Shawn show up and stop the mob, and explain why violence and rioting is wrong, why destruction and burning the school isn't the answer, etc.
Then, yesterday, we were watching an episode where Cory's parents have another child, and he's born in rough shape and might not make it. Alan (cory's dad) walks into NICU and there's a Jewish man praying over his child. He asks how his kid's doing, and then asks him to say a prayer for his kid, too. Then, Alan -- who's never really shown himself to be particularly religious -- walks over to his kid and has a fairly long monologue pleading with God to save his baby. We talked about how this would never happen today; God would be absent from the episode, and hell, the baby probably would have been aborted because of how much later in life they got pregnant. We concluded that if, in the rare case, religion were in the episode (if made today), it'd have been a muslim woman praying over the baby and no mention of any Christian or Jewish God.
There's also just a ton of other stuff, like the general relationship between Cory and Topanga, who are high school sweethearts, and don't have sex until married. Sex is rarely mentioned until that point in the show, too, and even "bad boy" Shawn, and Eric "the cool older brother," never really seem to have sex until maybe college (and even then I can't specifically remember an episode where they talk about it, except for an episode where Eric almost has sex in his parents bed, and they find the girls earring in their bed and basically have "the talk" with Eric about how he better not have irresponsible sex at his age); whereas today, kids shows -- shows like this for the SAME demographic -- are hyper-sexualized, and the kids are always having sex and trading partners
So many other examples, like an episode where a professor hits on Topanga and Cory hits him (it's actually the actor's brother in real life, and the kid that played Kevin in the Wonder Years), there's actually a few episodes where Cory essentially gets sexually abused and a girl forces herself on him, and they even make some semi-racy jokes considering this was for kids. They also even make some typical more liberal talking points -- but important and actually logical ones (the one where professor hits on topanga and kind of MeToos her, would be an example). And because the show isn't so "woke" and like today's shows, it's actually effective at delivering all of its messages, because it doesn't seem political, overt, and forced, like everything made today. It's just wholesome messaging that seems to come from a place of genuine values that should be taught to kids, rather than radical political ideology to indoctrinate kids
This is all true for so many other shows we watch, but it's just been really incredible watching this and pointing all the examples out, and then talking about what the episode would be like, instead, if made today. I'm starting to think watching this show as a kid is a big reason I turned out the way I did
My jaw almost hit the floor. This is a class at a top business school/MBA program, and the girl speaking is a FB employee. She compared it to Selma, and voter suppression during the civil rights movement, saying that facebook is allowing political ads that are misleading people and lying by stating that mail-in voting is basically anything less than a perfect system... I... I... don't even know what else to say. Shouldn't surprise me, but I guess just hearing it, and seeing her say this so matter of factly, and as if facebook is some all powerful institution, was just shocking
Hey all. Running on empty after a sleepless night. Stress kept me up all night, after learning I was billed $4k for health insurance that I shouldn't have been billed. I know this isn't exactly about Trump, but it does somewhat relate to politics (around healthcare, where we're allegedly no longer required to have insurance or otherwise get a fine; as well as the general politics of academia sucking donkey balls).
Basically, I am a graduate student. I had the student healthcare last year, as an enrolled student. I intentionally didn't enroll this year, in large part because I knew I was moving to a new job that offered great medical care. I start next week. Now, students can submit a waiver (if they have healthcare) to not be auto enrolled in the school's plan, which is due in July. I couldn't submit a waiver then, since I hadn't started this job yet giving me their insurance. However, I also was not enrolled as a student, so that should have been a moot point... only current students are auto-enrolled. I'm currently arguing with them, trying to explain I'm not even a student, but if I were, I'm going to have health insurance next Tuesday, the same day that classes start (which, again, is a moot point). I was never sent any mail or formally informed that I was going to be billed this $4k (well, maybe to a student email, which I'm not checking given that I'm not currently a student)
So... what do I do? I'd tell them to just go fuck themselves and send it to collections, but it gets billed to a student account where my rent also gets posted (I don't live in student housing, but the school owns my apartment, so it all goes through the same system. So if I pay rent, it'll just go towards that $4k, and then I'm now past due for rent). I made a major change in my life for the explicit reason of getting incredible healthcare (high deductible plan that only costs $12 a week, but the company also puts the maximum amount into an HSA for me. Compare that to the school's plan which is like $80/week). I literally didn't enroll in school this year, and took a new job, for this exact reason, to get better care for myself (and soon to be wife/current fiancee, and future kid) and save up money -- but this $4k charge essentially defeats the entire purpose.
Hey all! Kind of just briefly posted on this -- getting no traction, and I feel bad for kind of spamming, but I love and trust this community, and know there are some good-hearted people who understand a lot of this stuff more than I do.
I'm not even entirely sure what my questions are, but... my fiancee just accepted a new job, and I just got a new job offer. If I accept, our combined income will go from ~poverty level, to a combined annual income of $100k. We're in a state w/ no income tax, and fairly low cost of living. There are a number of other variables at play, ranging from student debt, to this new job offer being at a non-profit (which comes w/ some benefits in the way of paying off student debt using income-based payments, and getting debt forgiveness after 10 years through PSLF) -- but I'm still anxious for some reason about changing jobs.
The short of it, is that we really want to start a family, settle down, get a home, etc. I've got some savings/investments, too, and my fiancee has basically no debt. I'm not entirely sure what my questions are, but I'm really looking for some discussion, any insight, advice, suggestions, etc. Others sharing their experiences, and just anything that might be relevant, help us on our journey, and/or help quell some of my anxiety in deciding whether to accept this offer.
Hope to hear from some of you! I'm at a major crossroads, and want to make sure I make the best decisions possible to set my fiancee and I up for a nice, happy future with a big family of future 'pedes.
Cheers!
Hey all! Super excited, just got an offer for a really good job I applied to right before the virus hit and screwed everything up. They finally got back in touch.
I'm currently working a great job, pay-wise, but it's not full time, and no benefits, and I need both. This new job pays slightly less on an hourly basis (I'd be on salary here, but just by the math, slightly less hourly, but making about twice as much annually) for 45 hours/week. Complete benefits, including 401k match. And while I know opinions on non-profit work ranges, it also comes with a really great benefit for me, in the way of income-based student loan repayment and total debt forgiveness after 10 years/120 payments.
Ultimately, seems the economy is ready to steamroll back -- just wanted to share my excitement, and also get any input (as I haven't accepted yet... I'm excited but also anxious and don't want to make a bad decision. Love where I work now, and they love me, but there's currently no full time positions available for me. They really want to keep me. But, it's also not non-profit, and any FT position would likely pay the same amount as what the new company just offered)
I got an e-mail a week or two ago about health services offering testing. It didn't say anything about it being required. Then I get another e-mail today, that forwarded that same first e-mail, with a new one basically saying "You're receiving this because our records indicate you haven't been tested yet, which is required to return to campus, as per the dean. Please see the dates available for students in your graduate program."
We don't even have on-campus classes. I'm currently working at the school (but from home) as well and they haven't asked me to get tested. I'm also done with classes, just working on my thesis, so I really don't have to go to campus. Further, I never even left since last spring term -- I've been living in the same graduate housing throughout this, and have basically been in home confinement/quarantine anyway, with no contact with anyone. So the way I see it, going to get a test only exposes me to tons of people, as well as those doing the testing who have encountered thousands of students from all over the country. It simply puts me at way higher risk, given that I've been isolated here since february basically. There is precisely a 0% chance I am going to get a test... hopefully things work out, but I guess we'll see. I don't even care anymore, I'm so fed up with this school (an "elite" school, too) and the program I'm in, it's absolutely trash brainwashing. I may have found a new, and much better job (not at the school), too, in which case I might just say fuck it, consider myself a retard for wasting 2 years in this shitty program, and move on with my life. Don't want to jinx anything, but just really crossing my fingers the company I interviewed with gets back to me with some good news this week and my fiancee and I can move on and get out of this hell-hole progresssive leftist crunchy college town
meh, /rant
Hey Folks, let's play a fun game! Using your cell-phone, go into a text message, and begin your automatic Sleepy Joe Speech Generator. It's simple! Choose a Biden word or phrase to start, and allow the auto-complete suggestions to do the rest for you! Throw in an occasional Bidenism to start a new sentence (either italicize or note at the end which phrases you specifically wrote -- don't overdo it!), and continue auto-completing the sentence -- upvote your favorite ones to bring them to the top, but remember, we're all winning, here, but we're still not tired of it! Let's start!
My Biden auto complete speech:
Look folks, up here and I get to go see my new place and I’ll have a chance. Come on, man, is that a little too much for you? Corn pop is the same but it’s a great way of getting it right. The kids would stroke my leg hair, but it is not a bad thing to do and it will sniff. You ain’t black or something else but I gotta say something about the honey. Black lives matter and what the future will was the most important thing about it. What, why’d I stop? Yup that’s good for me and my kids and I’m not sure what to say
