In Toronto, accidents happen because people go too fast, too close together (tailgating).
On British Columbia's Coquihalla Highway- 60 miles of one of the worst roads in all of North America in winters, due to its rapid temperature fluctuations ( rain to ice, clear to snow - over a mile ) and rock falls, creating unexpected driving hazards, the danger is from idiots driving too fast with summer tires. lol
But I'd bet Chinese drivers, new to North America, cause more accidents than all of them combined. Not accidents "as serious" - but fender benders, for sure.
When I see a PORSCHE or BMW or MERCEDES SUV I am very wary.
Then there is the recent wave of Indian immigrants who come from a place where they were only responsible for things "in front of them", not to the side or behind, according to India's driving laws. This explains why people hate NYC Taxi Drivers. lol
