My grandpa and my parents insisted on getting the vaccine. I couldn't change their minds. Their more...boomer Republicans. They still watch Fox and such. I told them about the problems with it, but they I sister it was only a few people. I'm seriously praying for my parents right now. I'm so not ready to lose them.
My grandfather just died and he got his second dose of the vaccine about 2 weeks ago. Had a massive heart attack. Granted, he wasn't in pristine health and did have heart problems, but I truly feel that if it weren't for the vaccine he would have lived longer.
Not necessarily. Make it so punishment fits crime and after that people are allowed to have meaningful lives and I think we'd see less of a rotating door criminal justice system. That won't necessarily work for everyone, but that can be part of the new system. Right now, once you go to jail for anything...you're basically screwed. No matter how much you want to turn your life around, be better, etc...that crime follows you around and you can barely get minimum wage jobs unless you're VERY lucky. Thus they resort to crime again. It's a vicious cycle. Never intended to be that way.
As long as it wasn't something to do with voter fraud for voting rights. Fuck that up once and you've lost that right. I agree with weapons except in violent/sexual criminals (and not the "I peed in a fountain next to a school" type sexual).
Our entire legal system top down needs to be wiped clean and started from scratch, Federal to local. The legal code is supposed to be understandable, it was created to be in simple language and posted in the town square so no one could claim ignorance.
Now, we as citizens are still expected to know the law front to back despite its ever changing form. Government officials from cops to 3 letter agencies can blithely ignore the law and claim ignorance or misunderstanding and its perfectly valid. It used to be that any official was held to a higher standard, and that's how it should be again.
Forcing kids to eat when they aren't looking for nutrition is what has lead to the pandemic of obesity. Children are born knowing how and when to eat. It's we grownups that screw it up by pushing our bad food choices onto them, insisting they eat a dull meal 3x a day, etc. Our society has forgotten what "cellular" hunger is. Only eating when your body tells you it wants something and knows what that is. Not STOMACH hunger, because we can train that.

My problems with this type of pregnancy are:
- Is it being born I to a stable, nuclear family.
- Who is paying for the child's upkeep? Is WIC, Welfare, Medicare, etc paying for the child?
- Is the childs home environment safe? Are there problems with alcoholism, drug abuse, etc?
That's right. Gah...all the years have blended together thanks to this nonsense. I traveled from AZ to NE around Thanksgiving 2019. My family there has immuno compromised kids and spends a LOT of time at the Nebraska Medical Center. They had something really nasty going through when i got there, and I wound up with it.
Terrible headaches, body aches, taste all off...very dull...I only had a little fever because I just don't run fevers. I've never had an antibody test, but im pretty sure that was my trial by fire. I still felt a little crappy when I got home and have it to DH. Made me so mad, he got sick for 3 hours.
I MIGHT, repeat might, consider it after it's gone through full FDA testing and been available for at least 5 years FDA approved. However, I'm fairly sure I was in the early group to get it as I was traveling at the end of ..2019? God, I've lost track of what year this crap started in.
Anyways, chances are I contracted it then and have antibodies. I've since never contracked it despite distaining masks, multiple ER visits for severe intractable migraibs with "verified" cases in the ER", etc. I take very few precautions. I'm not even a huge hand washer and I NEVER use hand sanitizer unless I'm visiting her or Mom is visiting me and she pushes it off on me. I'm overweight (Really working on it, I swear), have high blood pressure, etc.; a perfect high risk candidate.
Only thing I really do is take vitamin D and a daily multivitamin that I believe contains zinc.
I'm personally drinking for pain control for Fibromyalgia and chronic, Neverending migraines now. I've been to everyone and tried all but a few treatments. I'm going for Ketamine infusions in 2 weeks. God I hope they work. I can walk away without a second look when I'm not in near crippling pain, I'm just not there yet.
I have true respect for those of you who feel this way for other reasons that may not be as "easily" solved. Having to find the will and the way when you don't know the reason must be incredibly difficult, and my prayers go out for each and every one suffering, and for everyone who is moving forward and finding success.
As a woman that is some IMPRESSIVE shit that I want absolutely NOTHING to do with. Damn, that looks like hard ass, dangerous (like REALLY, REALLY FUCKING DANGEROUS) work, and I applaud the men who are capable of that kind of work.
Just as "ADHD became overdiagnosed and overtreated, so is gender disphoria. MAYBE it has been under diagnosed in the past...MAYBE. In the present it is being severely over-diagnosed. Most of the children being diagnosed with it are vulnerable children who are simply uncomfortable with puberty and need guidance and understanding to make the transition fro.child to adult. A large percentage of the remaining diagnosed are "tomboys" or perhaps lesbians who are convinced that they MUST be in the wrong body.
As this treatment is aging, we are finding that the suicide rate of transgenders is astronomical. Those that are encouraged to wait and process their genetically gender are much more successful. I WILL admit that there are EXTREME, and I do mean EXTREME cases, that midnight warrant gender reassignment, but those cases are very, very rare.
