Most prostitutes are --- at best --- doing it to feed their addiction, and --- at worst --- being trafficked by pimps & handlers, which more often than not started at an early age, targeting young girls from broken homes, where they were likely the victims of sexual abuse by family members or other close ties.
Thing is, making a law about something like that doesn't get rid of it.
All it does is move it into the black market, empowering criminals & giving them more illicit revenue streams.
The real solution to problems like this are never MoAr GoVeRnMeNt. They start in the home, with a traditional nuclear family structure & early education on personal moral values.
Failing that, we need strong social systems to help people who want the help.
Look at alcohol prohibition... Did alcohol become more or less dangerous when legalized & regulated?
This isn't about libertarianism, it's about pragmatism.
If your goal is to weaken the hold of prostitution over the lives of these prostitutes & their pimps...
