It occurred to me that the Covid response would be very different if it were young males most at risk. The reason they want everything thing shut down is that the old people in power are scared of being shut out of things stayed open and they had to isolate themselves. If it were young people at risk they would be fine with making them keep working, just as they are fine with sending them off to die in wars.

I took a vacation and visited parts of upstate NY recently. Lots of Trump support. I was feeling kind of down about the elections prospects, but this helped lift my spirits.

Seemed a little like fake rage to me. Adams seems a little fake in general to me. How is someone who was supposedly so generous in giving away his money earlier in life and wanted a "comfortable retirement" so concerned with his estate taxes? Estate taxes would only hit what is left after he and his wife die. Who does he need to leave +$5 million to? He surely knows he could set up a foundation to give lifetime employment and income to his children or others heirs as all the other rich people do.

Yes, used to be low interest meant companies could invest to produce more. But, by and large we as a country don't seem to produce much anymore. So the investments go to things like more hotels and other service economy based ventures. Almost every town has had an explosion of micro breweries and distilleries. Sure, they are cool and they are "producing" something, but is it at a scale and return that would be a rational investment in a normal market?

She might not have been arrested. It seems more likely that someone impersonated a state trooper to get her rental information. The arrest record would be public information.

(WDRB) -- A Louisville Metro Police Officer has been shot in downtown Louisville amid protests in response to the Breonna Taylor decision.
Metrosafe confirmed to WDRB News that an officer had been shot at Brook and Broadway sometime before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. The news was also confirmed by LMPD Spokesperson Lamont Washington in an emailed statement.
No other information was immediately available. Possible injuries to the officer are unknown at this time.
