Pence's mistake was "TruStiNG thE PLan" (ie the rules and constitoosh) that five minutes per would be diligently spent working to get to the bottom of the fiasco. Instead, The Swamp used it as a platform to shit all over everything good that GEOTUS ever stood for. And rather than call it all to a halt and demand order, he just sat back and let them have their fill.
He should have known better. After all the bullshit he and Trump endured together over the years, he should have known better.
And that's the "optimistic" side of me talking. A more critical take says the dems flipped him and he played ball in an effort to have a place in the political sphere going forward.
Get bent
Ahh, the ole make-it-personal-and-attack-fellow-pedes-who-may-not-be-an-exact-copy-of-yourself routine again, I see? That'll go well for us this time, I know it!

Ehhh I wouldn't quite go that far...
Sounds awfully close to one of those, "MAGA losing means we win!" types of mental gymnastics.
Maybe he'll be effective, maybe he won't. The truth is, for the time being, this loss Biden's stolen win hurts. No two ways about it.
THANK YOU for the summary!
Because these are the types of messages that lend credibility to the MAGA movement, well done Alex!

Ahh, trying the legal route again, I see? That'll go well for us this time, I know it!

Question: How many libtards are now aware of the swamp creatures?
In my world, not that many. They still idolize and worship them same as before. Sure, those who were already skeptical of gov't may be further convinced, etc, but I'd hardly count that as a resounding win.
MAGA Americans banded together to support GEOTUS in record numbers and what do we have to show for it? A giant fucking "L" because at the end of the day, the swamp actually drained us from having any political power for the foreseeable future.
Right there with you! I'm absolutely LIVID
I believe it was there too. Just not by Biden himself.
And maybe I'm wrong. There's no way to know or not know on this point.
Which is hilarious though! To think that Biden may honestly believe he is this popular! lolololol
Oh I agree! You get me wrong, fren, I understand it fully.
I just don't believe it was "from the tippy-top", from the Big Guy himself. I believe it was a few levels removed, people caught up in Biden's circle who made it happen. With the Soros's of the world doing their part to the pull their strings too.
Which IMO is even funnier. To think that Biden actually goes around believing in his own mind that he really is the most popular president in our nation's history.
What a crock!
I don't believe Biden himself personally cheated. I don't think he had anything to do with it.
I think the outcome was purely driven by people acting in what they perceived to be their own vested interests.
And given our election process is such a "hands on" undertaking that relies on thousands and thousands of people, it's no surprise then that many of those same people took deliberate action to remove who they believed to be an Orange Hitler incarnate.
The problem is, so did the justice system. Rather than being "blind" and upholding the laws, they caved too and let the mail-in fiasco rule the day. Past the due date? Who cares! Not a proper signature? Who cares!
It's a damn shame that underscores how NO NATION is immune to the whims and fancies of its populace. No, we are not unique, we are not better than. We are people, driven and motivated by the same temptations and desires found all over the world. This is why BLM/Antifa made us look like a third-world country. Because there is nothing "special" about being born in America that somehow makes us immune to tribal warfare/etc.
And I fear even GEOTUS, when push came to shove, was all too ready to throw in the towel and pin his hopes on someone else to save our democracy (ie Pence, etal) rather than roll up his own sleeves, stand in the breach, and as our commander-in-chief boldly declare, "NOT ON MY WATCH!"
People are fallible. Even the best among us. That's a hard truth to swallow.
May God help us all in the coming times for our nation to do what is right and may he give us the strength to do what we can with what he has entrusted to us.
Yeah, what kind of a buttfuck reason is that?
"Crazy people read crazy things into non-crazy statements, let's punish the speaker!"
How about no, Bitch McConnell? How about going after the nutjobs?
Don't you know that's the same exact logic that lead to the US "apology tour" under Obama?
Grow some balls! Call it like it is!
Well said, pede! Unfortunately, looking back in hindsight, this turned out to be all too true!
We got way too much media attention where people flooded through and it’s really lowered the quality.
I agree 100%!
It quickly deteriorated from being a place I enjoyed and found common-ground, to one that made me feel embarrassed and annoyed.
Which shouldn't come as a surprise! One of the downsides of "open borders" and all...
Here's to td.win getting back'er mojo! Cheers!
I'm right there with ya, fren! It's a shame people like yourself have been left out to dry, to feel ostracized for voicing a level-headed opinion. And on a site like td.win, nonetheless!
For a while there, it reached the point for me that I quit engaging with the site. I was worn out from feeling like I was constantly being questioned or called a doomer not for being combative or rude, but for simply being curious and attempting to see things from 10,000 feet above the fray.
From time to time I take a look at other sites and "liberal minded" subreddits. And you know what I find? That people, when blinded by a closely-held belief, all act the same.
It seems to me that one can take 95% of all hate and vitriol spewed by the right against its enemies on the left, switch the "names", and no one here would be the wiser. They think we're dumb just like we think they're dumb.
And I'll even take it one step further in saying that most of the time, I've found they'll point to what appears to be backed-up reasons and "evidence". The same way we do! Hell, some of it has even caused me to learn that some of the "actors" on our side of the fence are not nearly as whitewashed and clean as I would have otherwise believed.
All said, this perhaps leads me to a deeper understanding about the human psyche and its biases.
No, that doesn't mean I've renounced my more libertarian and/or conservative perspectives or burned bridges with the truly glorious MAGA agenda, just that I've learned to hold my "100% assurances" a little more gingerly, with a little less personal investment. Why? Because I've found that doing otherwise invariably clouds my judgment and serves to impair my ability to think with a sense of objectivity and reason. It also works against any chance I might have in reaching the "other side" in a dialogue of ideas.
Sure, I still despise the Pelosi's and Schumer's (and, now, Pence's?) of the world for what I perceive they stand for... But perhaps that should prompt me to get to know and understand their perspectives more rather than to become more doggedly confident --and, therefore naïve-- in my opinions?
Again, not to agree. But to understand. Not to defend. But to perceive.
And for me, putting in the time and effort to "rewire" myself toward that approach has truly been liberating and empowering.
Well put, fren! Smart minds think alike
Yep, you can say that again!
Grateful for what he accomplished but absolutely bitter about what he (deliberately?) fell short on.
And the ridiculous EO's he put into effect with a week left in his term were a total joke. Like why the hell weren't you forcing XYZ for the entire four years?
And if he truly believed the election was stolen, if he truly believed the CCP had a in hand in getting Biden elected? Then he completely dropped the ball as our nation's commander-in-chief. Letting things "play out" in the hands of ole Rudy and his sugar tits assistant was weak sauce and honestly, made me doubt his conviction of the claims altogether.
If he's not willing to put it all on the line for his own sake and for the sake of our country, why should I, a lowly pleb, bend over backwards on his behalf?
Still love me some Trump, but the whole ordeal left a really weird taste in my mouth...
"Yeah, because it's that easy to track the POTUS's whereabouts, didn't you know!?!?! What are you, a doomer faggot!?!?!"
I agree, fren, I rolled my eyes all day at that ridiculousness too.
The capital gains is what will hurt us investor-pedes the most.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuck
Hmm, interesting...
Trump has all this evidence and never arrested anyone for any treason at all? Thats a traitorous move in of itself.
Yeah, that was a big surprise to me as well. And his lack of action on any commission looking into the Clinton's, like he alluded to on the campaign trail.
Of course, looking how completely inept Session and Barr both turned out, it could have all been outside of modern presidential purview.
There's a giant rabbit hole suggesting he was murdered while on vacation. Not sure how much credence I give it, but it does make ya wonder...
The Presidency is a club, and now he's neck deep in it.
A tell-all book?
Yeah, no. They won't let him pull that off.
He's a "slave" to The Swamp from here on out, his every move watched by secret service, etc.
Hopefully I'm wrong though! But after getting a peek behind SCOTUS through Scalia's death, I don't imagine POTUS is any different.
And NOTHING for congressional term limits, which means The Swamp is more alive and well than ever.
In all fairness, he pretty much has to say that.
Do you honestly expect him to say, "For those who are part of the movement, you're absolutely screwed. Heels and Hiden are the worst thing that could happen to our great nation."
Die for a cause?
Hell, the GOP can't even agree that WINNING should be top of mind!
Pence went off into the weeds to have some sort of personal awakening to find what he felt was his purpose and role.
It's like, NO BITCH! The movement is bigger than you and your convictions. No one cares about your personal fee fees. Man the fuck up and realize that WE MUST WIN.
And to GEOTUS's credit, he's absolutely right on this point. The GOP does not know how to win. Only how to look after their own individual self interests. And that's why we lose time and again. Because the dems take a different approach. They clearly say, "Lock arms, we're in this together! For the cause!"
We could actually learn a thing or two from that sort of unwavering focus and committment.
