You are right about thug culture being the problem. Take race out of it entirely - glorifying thug culture has been rotting us from the inside for decades. There is no place for thuggery in Western civilization. The Marxists are just taking advantage of that situation.
I think this is a good question. Think about it as "tough love". We do our best to protect our kids, but sometimes they just don't listen and need to experience the harsh reality of life to internalize the lesson. To me, it's good for two reasons. First it offers those who are literally asking for abolishing police a reality check of what life is like without police. Second, it may rally our base and may wake the sleeping giant. People who already know that losing police protection is not good may be forced to organize and defend their person and property. I pray they fight back, look out for each other, and provide valuable lessons learned from the experience. [edit: I'm saying it is an overall net good - the benefits will likely outweigh the obvious drawbacks that you are pointing out.]
Seconded. A quick test is to ask them, "If I proved to you that President Trump is best for this country, would you accept it and vote for him this fall?" 95% of the time they will indicate "no". Odds are, you have more useful and productive things to do with your time.
