It appears there are provocateurs that are writing these comments under the guise of being normal conservative users of the site, but they're actually paid to write the comments to push a narrative. I forgot the name for these people, it's not a botnet because that would be like a computerized chatbot...
This is my limited understanding of what's going on... Gamestop's stock has been going down for a long time now. People can place a bet, called a "short", that the stock will continue to go down. Lots of people have been shorting the stock. They're basically betting that the company will go bankrupt, like Radioshack. However, the company has been doing OK financially, and then the stock started going up a bit. People started chatting about it on Reddit and other forums and started building up some hype. Suddenly lots of people started buying it, driving the stock higher. This created something called a "short squeeze" where all those people that were shorting the stock are suddenly losing massively on their bet.

I never got an answer to this, but I heard that GOP in state legislatures wanted to decertify, but the governors would not allow special session to vote. Then I heard others say that the legislatures were not required to get permission to hold a special session. Seemed like there was a blame game going around to just run out the clock. Maybe best strategy from Trump would have been to get SCOTUS to rule over this special session permission issue, and at the very least we could have found out who was responsible for running out the clock.
