I agree with you in sentiment. But also keep in mind that he knows where the line is and where not to cross it. Laws for defamation are different for public figures. I'm not a lawyer, but I suspect Lin knows he is in bounds of the law when he makes these statements -- and it's not just because he believes he is speaking the truth -- which I do still think he believes.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Trump just had free reign to pick whoever he wanted for any position he wanted. Like everything there's push and pull, e.g. the senate had leverage to persuade Trump to pick one candidate over another.
Not named to a senior position, but yeah he endorsed her...on the other hand not sure if endorsing someone else would have helped in that situation.

But I will say this a thousand times on this forum: when it comes time to vote, you have to pick the candidate mostly by their past actions over their current promises.
