In the spirit of steel-manning the arguments of views I oppose, I'll say why I think they're rationalizing this. Their main concern is mixing Covid patients with flu patients at the hospitals. The symptoms for either are so similar and they can't diagnose them immediately. There's still a finite number of "insta-tests." Not enough to cover all the potential Kung-Flu patients. So they don't want to get flu patients sick with the ChinaVirus.
Ideally, the hospitals are flush on masks and can provide them to people in the waiting rooms so it ultimately doesn't matter what they have; they can't spread it. That being said, NYC is a lawless fucking wreck right now. I wouldn't be surprised if they shut down again. But I'm optimistic that the Wuhan Coronavirus has burned it's way through NY for good and won't re-surge to the point we were at in April.
Best case, he wins them. Worse case, Dems are being put on the defense.

I think he's referring to whatever got destroyed. Not the innocent people caught in the collateral. The videos of the innocent people caught up in the explosion are terrible. But it's possible that we'd have seen worse if not for this.
The fact is none of us can say for sure what exactly happened. We are too far away from it. Maybe the truth will come out but I wouldn't count on it.
Man I don't care where in the world it takes place, seeing an innocent person dead like that at 4:29 is disturbing. As far as anyone can tell this was just some mother or grandmother out shopping. I don't want the US to be emotionally manipulated into supporting a BS war that just brings more destruction like this. But I hope whoever is responsible pays the price.

We can't have governors deciding what foods restaurants and bars are allowed to serve in order to stay open. NY numbers are down and flat. No longer in emergency mode anyway.
Initially the lock-down made sense. Especially in the first hit regions. "OK crazy contagious novel virus spreading around. It might be best if everyone boards up for a couple of weeks while we see what it does. We don't want to look like Italy or Spain." Now it's apparent that we can treat most people infected.You most likely won't catch it unless you have bad hygiene. Asymptomatic people don't spread it. If you're sick, stay home. If you're afraid, wear a mask. Make coughing in someone's face a chargeable crime while we're at it. But otherwise, we now know we are safe and ready to move on.

That was a glorious battle. The dumpster skirmish was the turning point. Antifa tried to use it as a battering ram but Patriots made it their own and danced ontop of it with Pepsi.
