To be fair here and to clear up what this kid doesn't understand:
- The pump supplies make up the bulk of the expense, not insulin, and that is a choice. It vastly improves quality of life to have CGM.
- Deductible just started fresh, need to meet that. I just shelled out $1035 for pump supplies and will do a few more times before deductible is met. No copay after April.
- He's not going to die, but will have to live with alot more inconvenience. Sounds horrible and I'm sympathetic, but sometimes we have to remember that others have it worse and look on the positive side.
Climate has been changing for billions of years. Concerning predictable patterns... yes, this should be considered normal. Where I live, we are about get 6-10 inches of snow. Had something very similar on Valentines Day about 13 years ago, 40 MPH winds. Travel was nearly impossible.

To be fair here, he's referring to pump supplies as well. Maybe strictly pump supplies. Dexcom G6 sensors are incredibly expensive, infusion sets aren't cheap either. Insulin is cheap compared to CGM supplies.
